Our Interplanetary Future: A UFO primer for skeptics by Milton Brener explores reported UFO encounters.

NEW YORK (MMD Newswire) February 11, 2010 -- Our Interplanetary Future: A UFO primer for skeptics by Milton Brener examines important episodes of recent history involving sightings and experiences with extraterrestrials.

Brener's book recaps frequent sightings in WWII by combat pilots; reports of sightings by airline pilots, military pilots and astronauts; the Roswell cover-up; and the 'plague' of saucers over the Washington, D.C. area in 1952; and reports from a dozen other countries.

Reviewing several well documented abduction files, Brener works to examine some particular UFO cases where there was an alleged government cover-up. In one chapter, the author refers to a quote by Neil Armstrong while on the moon, "These babies were huge, sir! Enormous! Oh, God! You wouldn't believe it. I'm telling you there are other spacecraft out there." Brener notes that the statement, made in 1969, was believed to have been suppressed by the government for reasons sometimes ascribed to national security.

Two of the later chapters include quotes from five U.S. presidents such as John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, and Ronald Reagan discussing the topic of the extraterrestrial nature of UFOs and, according to Brener, all of whom were alleged to have personally witnessed them.

Brener asserts that while 80 percent of all reported sightings may be illusions, mistakes in identifying stars, or even hoaxes, there is reason to be believed that many UFO reports are very credible. His book aims to validate those claims. Brener also addresses the potential benefits civilization could accrue from contact with an extraterrestrial society.
