Weird Flying Disc – UFO or Rmote Controlled Toy?

A California parent and three kids are wondering what the disc-shaped object was with a black bottom and white top that was moving and tilting and “appeared going over the mountain in Desert Hot Springs” on October 2, 2011, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

One of the kids first saw the object and alerted the parent.

“We turned to go towards the object to get a better view,” the witness stated. “It was disc-shaped like a saucer or Frisbee. It was close enough to see the colors – which were black on the bottom and white on top. It moved up and down and side-to-side in a tilting-like motion. It was weird. I thought, what could that be? I immediately thought of my camera phone when it occurred to me, I’d left it at home.”

They watched the object for 30 to 45 seconds before driving off for a video camera to capture the event. But when they arrived back at the site a few minutes later, the object was gone.

“I’m wondering if it was a man-made radio controlled object. It just seemed too large and far away to be controlled by a radio remote control.”

The above quotes were edited for clarity. Desert Hot Springs is a city in Riverside County, CA, population 25,938.

And speaking of parents having to explain odd flying objects to their kids, an 8-year-old Michigan boy pointed out to his parent that a “small, white, shiny object” was flying near a commercial jet on October 2, 2011, as reported in MUFON Case # 32294.

“It was much higher than the jet and moved a lot faster too,” the parent stated. “After about three minutes, it was out of our sight. Then about 20 minutes later, I seen a cigar-shaped, white UFO that was a lot closer to the ground than the other one. This one was flying in a straight path at first, until it abruptly stopped, hovered for about 20 seconds, and then completely vanished as if a bubble popping. It didn’t fly away, it just disappeared completely.”
