Mars Monorail?

Very interesting article on the front page showing the straight line on Mars. I installed Google Mars and had a look.

This is a very intriguing image and would appear almost certainly to have some kind of anthropogenic feature on the landscape.

However I think the monorail hypothesis is unlikely because if you look at the scale near the bottom the white elevated feature which might otherwise be the railcar is about a mile long, and the distance between the parallel tracks being about the same.

To me it looks like a giant tyre impression, one assumes it to be quite recent because an adjacent photo does not show it, or perhaps that has had it airbrushed out, but why one and not the next?

All very strange and I don't propose a specific hypothesis, only agree that it looks distinctly manufactured.
