In today's forum topic we're providing another one of my classic favorites. Please review this and I'm going to provide a link to an entertaining documentary that will go into a little more detail than I have.

In the northern Amazon River delta (river opening where the mouth of the Amazon pours into the Atlantic) sits a small island named Colares. In 1977, Colares became the target of visitations by unknown aircraft of several types. With the craft being of several types is uncommon in the “UFO visitation” world. It’s usually one type or another, but all the same when multiple UFO’s are involved.

Not long after observing the strange craft in the sky, the members of the village on Colares began being hit by small diameter beams of light. The beams of light would cause something similar to burn marks on them that were painful. The citizens there who trusted the doctor, began visiting her. She had no idea what to tell the people of Colares, as these were marks she had never encountered before in her young career.

Finally, after seeing two female patients whose burn marks were much worse than anything she’d seen previously, and causing more pain to the patients than she could medically treat, she sent them both to the nearest hospital on the mainland, where they eventually died.

Meanwhile, a small military unit had been sent to the island under the code name "Operation: Saucer", when translated to English. Their supposed objective was to observe and do some small detective work on a group of communist guerillas. What they would face instead would leave the leading commander of the small unit in almost mental unrest the rest of his life.
