Glenn Kimball is an author, educator and lecturer Glenn Kimball is an author, educator and lecturer. He has successfully completed all course work for a Ph.D. in Communications. He was the former president of International Exchange School and has taught school at Southern Illinois University. He has been collecting ancient texts since the age of fifteen and is famous for being able to integrate very diverse texts into a contiguous story line. Due to the censorship of time and doubt, most of the documents and oral stories chronicling the early life of Jesus were destroyed, lost, or forgotten. After 25 years of research, during which Kimball visited museums, Indian tribes, medicine men, and universities, he assembled some of the missing links and unsolved mysteries of Christianity.

Michio Kaku is an internationally recognized authority in theoretical physics and the environment and continues Albert Einstein’s quest for the "theory of everything”.
Michio Kaku from New York University made an interesting observation on the “History Channel” the other day. He said that when we are investigating the existence of aliens we may be using the wrong protocol. I wonder if SETI was listening. Aliens may exist in the same space we do but just in another parallel universe. That roughly sounded to me like something I had heard in Sunday school. In other words aliens may have always been here and punched a hole into our universe when they wanted to and exited in the same way in much the same way angels appear and exit as well. They may not need to travel millions of lights years through space to communicate with us. SETI may be wasting millions of dollars looking for some signal from a life form that is right here among us. SETI is totally based their research on the fact that aliens would contact us through the radio. If you stand back and think about it for a minute that presumption is ridiculous. Why would we think that a society that is millions of years more advanced than our own would need to take the time to send us a radio signal, especially when they have been here all along? Radio must be a primitive communication vehicle to them. Here is a list of faulty presumptive protocols:

1 - Why would aliens want to talk to us in the first place? Perhaps they have been leaving us messages continually and we refuse to listen because we lack the protocol to hear them. We presume that they would want to speak to us in the language we require of them. We presume that they would tell us what we want to know.

2 - Why would aliens select SETI as their first contact into our world? What would SETI do with a radio signal from outer space? SETI presumes that they are ready for any signal from space and are smart enough to be the conduit of that message to the world. I for one wouldn’t speak to them either. I am sure they are not prepared for what they would find.

3 - Why would aliens land in Washington D.C. when the pentagon has proven over time that they would use that contact to reverse engineer weapons or gain a political advantage of some perverse sort? Governments change over the centuries. We presume that the USA is holy somehow and worthy and capable of passing the message to the rest of the world. Washington has proven time and time again that if they did get a message from aliens that the first thing they would do would be to classify it “top secret” and keep it to themselves. I wouldn’t talk to them either.

4 - If there are aliens they probably have already been in contact for thousands of years. Why would we listen to them now? SETI presumes that there has never been a contact with aliens in the past. They say that there is “absolutely no evidence of alien contact”. They presume that the aliens who have been around for eons of time would choose this very small instant in time to make their first contact. That sounds ridiculous to any thinking person. SETI has never taken the time to look for some historical contact and therefore don’t know what they are talking about. If you could see their operation they have done nothing to explore that possibility. Why aren’t they using the other set of eyes that they already possess? That must seem very strange to aliens. They must wonder why we are hell-bent on fragmenting our investigations and our understandings. Would you talk to an organization who can’t even communicate with other departments on the same campus?

5 - If I were an alien I would be concerned with how a contact would affect our fragile economies, our culture, our politics and our very belief in the Creator that they know well. I would be concerned about people killing themselves. The only people I would talk to would be organizations who believe in our common Creator and who offer hope in the after life. I would never talk to people who thought that their opinion was the only valid way of viewing the world. I would only talk to organizations and individuals who had strong moral fiber. The universe is protected by a code of honor imposed by the Creator. If that were not true then the aliens would have destroyed us long ago or used us and our planet as food and resources to perpetuate their own species, as implied in the movie “Independence Day”. I would take very small steps as implied in the movie “Contact” with Jodie Foster. There is more than one way to approach the understanding of alien contact…a separate set of eyes.

6 - We presume that friendly aliens would want to give us technology to improve our lot in life, when we are notorious for using advancements for perverse reasons.

7 - We presume we are ready for a contact from outer space. We have done a fine job of burning off our forests, pumping gases into our atmosphere, denying the creator of the universe, killing each other and trying to dictate the nature of the help we think we need. Have you ever talked to a teenager who thinks they know everything?

8 - Why is it the prophets who see the visions and the amoral are the greatest unbelievers? Why do “good people” tend to invite a miracle? Why are the prayerful the ones who seem to get the answers? Duh…maybe they need another set of eyes more than we need laboratory proof.

Jodie Foster portrays Dr. Arroway in the movie 'Contact'.
In the movie “Contact” with Jodie Foster (Art Bell’s favorite movie) she was asked by the selection panel what would be the first question she would ask an alien. She responded, “How did you do it?” She explained that she would want to know how they kept from destroying yourselves during the process of technological advancement. Now that was a brilliant question. Later in the movie when she arrives on Vega she asked the image of her father what comes next. He told her that there would be further contacts but that they would come in small steps. Again I thought the writers had tremendous insight. If I were an alien race I would take small steps in contacting the earth as well.

What would an alien require before contacting us? Is it the same thing God requires of us? Isn’t it logical to assume that God, or aliens, would require of us something before talking to us. Should we expect that God, or aliens, would require us to be worthy before any contact? It was the worthiness of aliens that insured their longevity. I have long felt that the best way of speaking to God, or the most likely way of contacting aliens, would be to first approach the subject of being worthy. Why would SETI presume that they would be chosen because they have college degrees and can operate complicated equipment? Being worthy is what SETI requires of its members. Their members must have degrees and experience. Why would they think aliens wouldn’t expect the same thing? Why would SETI presume that aliens don’t have the power to chose who they want to speak to?

If I were an alien who has been in contact with the earth for eons of time and had the power to see into the future and envision what awaits us when we are dead I wouldn’t be in a hurry to open a wide door of communication. They have probably received our transmissions which have evidenced our decline in moral values…the very matrix upon which the universe and galactic peace is based. They can understand the hope of the universe and how that extends beyond the boundaries of earth time. They understand that what awaits us in eternity far exceeds our need to preserve or improve the present. Aliens must have seen planets come and go and know what it takes to survive the life span of solar systems.

I have to laugh sometimes when I hear about the crash of an alien spaceship. We think these creatures have come from light years of distance only to crash in the most benign atmosphere in our solar system. We have reports of crash landings around the globe. Something is wrong with this picture. We must have embellished much of our UFO phenomenon. We can’t even tell the story of aliens correctly, even in our legends. These aliens must be really “bad drivers” or drive faulty equipment. I am convinced that we have experienced alien visitors here on earth. Scientists often tell us that the chances of intelligent life in the universe are nearly certain. If that is true then some of them must have come here. If that is true then they have left traces of their presence behind.

SETI is always talking about “Hard Evidence”, as if none exists. One thing is for sure that if you are unwilling to expand your protocols to see the evidence you probably won’t find it. Millions of people have seen UFOs and there are thousands of unexplained hard-evidence sightings that include radar detection, physical evidence of landings and professional observations. There are ancient textual descriptions and paintings. There is hard evidence of advanced ancient societies that have come and gone when they violated the laws of the Creator and the earth. A denial of hard evidence is silly and unprofessional when there clearly more evidence that “absolutely no evidence” at all. The greatest hard evidence ever found is the existence of the human conscience.

Is there a “galactic prime directive” as mentioned in the Star Trek series? If there is then who wrote the rules for the prime directive? Is there more meaning to this world than we are willing to admit? Does that meaning extend beyond our lives and beyond the life of the earth as well? Have the aliens and God contacted us many times and left us advice that is recorded in our religious canons because no one else would record it? I can’t help but think that it would be far more productive to learn about morality, the purpose of life and how to get along with each other before we can expect that God or aliens would contact us. That is how they were able to survive for so long. That is the secret to our own longevity as well. That is the answer to Jodie Foster’s question. Aliens have learned to survive because they have learned the secret of goodness.

The foundation of survival in the universe is based on learning how to treat each other. That sounds like something in a Sunday school lesson as well. The differences between religions are merely a matter of learning. The spirit is the prize. An alien or god would far more likely visit a church than they would SETI. After all the beauty of mankind is in our morality, honor, chivalry, nobility, passion, hope in the face of despotism and all the rest of the qualities of our common Father which is in heaven. That is what an alien would recognize, honor, long for and wish to understand from us. That would be a reason to make the journey. SETI would never understand the language of an alien who urns for the best in men that is so like the Creator. Why is that so hard to understand? Would you rather visit someone who has learned how to care or someone who wants to exploit? The truth is that Gods, angels and aliens have visited the worthy throughout history and avoided those who would know to conquer, understand to self aggrandize and who need a sign before they would believe. The secret to faith is that men must first learn to feed on love; then cometh the contact. We simply wouldn’t understand before that craving for goodness.

We make the huge mistake in protocol in expecting a church to be perfect. We don’t have that expectation of any other institution on the earth. However, the secrets to contacting aliens and the Creator are in a church, not in our skeptical scientific laboratories. We need to ask the right questions before we can understand the answers. That is exactly what I learned in college. It happens to be the same thing I learned in church. If you want to add a new set of eyes to understand the universe you can find them in our religious protocols. They don’t always agree with each other. Of course they wouldn’t.

I continue to recommend reading from a wide variety of religious texts, including some written by atheists. You don’t have to believe in order to ask the right question. However, every time you add a new pair of eyes to your discovery process you add to your ability to understand. Forgive the unbelieving. They know not what they do. The greatest discovery of all time will not be that aliens exist. It will be that God exists and knows the aliens as well.

I don’t pretend to understand every time something spiritual happens to me or when something mischievous happens either. However, I am not willing to dismiss all these things as being coincidence.

I hope I am never chosen to speak to aliens. I have my hands filled with the experiences I have. However, my first assumption if I were to meet an alien would be that they are family in a distant sense of the word. I would try and understand what they wanted me to know in the way they wanted me to know it. That is the secret to prayer as well.
