Communicating information and ideas about complex situations and developments in our world can be challenging.

An interrogation transcript, such as the one that follows below, is certainly a unique way to present information and concepts about unusual and interesting kinds of topics. However, maybe this type of communication is able to convey useful perspectives that other, more conventional methods, might not.

There are, of course, many ways to present facts, concepts, situations, ideas and feelings. The mass media, including films, TV, radio, Web sites, newspapers, magazines and books can be good platforms for communicating useful information of many kinds.

These platforms are used to put forth different kinds of factual, non-fiction, as well as fiction communications efforts. And, of course, fact-based fiction, or fiction that presents truth in some way, is a valid form of communication.

Music, visual art and photography, as well as the printed word, are also effective communication modalities.

Overall, the American people, as well as many people in other societies around the world, have become fairly sophisticated about what they are exposed to in the media. People frequently use their own good judgment and often are able discern truth or value in what they read, see, hear, feel and perceive.

As a result of these factors, and with the same disclaimer I made in my earlier article about an interrogation session – that I do not claim the interview is from any actual activity, and I do not allege or confirm that such an interview ever occurred – below is another interrogation or interview about unusual and special topics.

INTERROGATION SUMMARY AND TRANSCRIPT

Second interrogation session

Location: [REDACTED]

Date: [REDACTED]

Time: 1100 hours

Interrogation officers

CDR [REDACTED], U.S. Navy; COL [REDACTED], U.S. Air Force; Special Agent [REDACTED]

Interrogation subject:

Mr. Steve HAMMONS, author, writer, researcher

Reason for interrogation:

This is a follow-up interview with HAMMONS regarding his two novels and articles that deal with special topics of an anomalous nature that are of interest with regard to national security and emerging special phenomena.

Interrogation summary:

CDR [REDCATED] conducted the interview. COL [REDCATED] and Special Agent [REDCATED] observed. HAMMONS again appeared cooperative and less guarded than in the first interview. He again provided answers to all questions asked. He continued to indicate a willingness to cooperate. HAMMONS agreed to further interviews.

Interrogation transcript:

Interrogator (I): Hello Mr. Hammons. Thanks for talking with us again. If you remember, I’m Navy Commander [REDACTED]. I’ll be leading the discussion, with Colonel [REDACTED] and Agent [REDACTED] observing this time. That’s just the way we do it sometimes.

Subject (S): Okay.

(Subject shakes hands with interviewing officers and agent)

I: So, let’s take a look at some of these things posted on the novels’ home page that you refer to as “points of interest.” We’d like to get your input on these, and then maybe go into some details later.

If you’ll look through that information there in front of you, we can follow along together on this.

S: Okay.

(Subject picks up and looks at document packet)

I: And on this home page, there are URLs for those sections in the books posted the publisher’s Web site, is that right?

S: Yes.

I: The whole book? Both books are posted on the Web?

S: Yeah, the whole books, posted just like they look in the printed versions. And people can jump around the different chapters from the table of contents.

I: I see. In reference to the first book, “Mission Into Light,” there is a “point of interest” that says, let’s see here, “Chapter Seven: In Las Cruces, New Mexico, Joint Reconnaissance Study Group members Mike Green and Army Special Forces Captain Bill MacNeil interview Dr. Brenda Carruthers, associate professor of anthropology, New Mexico State University, about unconventional research topics.”

What can you tell us about this?

S: Well, a couple of the characters, members of this group, go over from Army Fort Huachuca near Tucson to interview a person who has done work in these areas they are researching. And they talk with her. She knows other people connected with their group. She gives them background information.

She knows the group CO and another character, a Special Forces colonel, who plays a big part in the story. She has done contract work for these kinds of projects herself.

These two group members end up staying at her house for a couple of days. She plays a part in later developments.

I: Alright then, how about this next section, “Chapter Ten: Former U.S. Marine and World War II Navajo Code Talker Joe Bear has a vision during a sweat lodge with fellow former Code Talkers near his home on the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona.”

What does this have to do with the story?

S: Joe Bear is a main character. He is involved in a lot of ways. He is an asset for this group and he was in the Marines in World War II with the father of the CO of the group, an Air Force colonel.

His vision, well, it’s hard to explain. He gets a message. Something comes to him that he thinks is important. It ties in with later developments.

I: Native Americans have a lot to do with these issues you look at in the books, right?

S: Yes. Quite a lot. In important ways.

I: We’ll follow up on that later. Alright, then there’s a little blurb about Chapter Twelve, called “Into the Mountains” and Chapter Thirteen “The Disc in the Meadow.” Let me read what you have here: “On an operation in the Sedona area, in the Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wilderness Area, Mike has a near-death experience and enters into an apparent DNA deep-memory phenomena.”

“He learns about connections between UFOs, extraterrestrials and Native Americans in the era before European conquest of the ancient Cherokee homeland in the Smokey Mountain region. He also learns about pending unconventional developments.”

What’s this about?

S: It’s kind of complicated. The group is going to a special meeting near Sedona, Arizona, in the real-life Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness Area, and they are ambushed by a sniper, or snipers.

Some of the characters are shot, and the main character has a weird experience. A near-death experience, with some different twists.

He seems to go back in time, or into his deep DNA memories. Or both. He goes back to an incident from ancient Cherokee times. He sees something, or experiences some things that tie a few things together, including the Native American and UFO parts of it. And the afterlife.

I: Hmm. Okay. Let’s move on to the next one: “Chapter Sixteen: Visions of Hawaii” and “Chapter Seventeen: Earth Changes.”

It says here, “JRSG member Air Force Captain Amy Mella has a vivid dream about a huge catastrophe on Earth, possibly geological in nature.

She and Mike meet with fellow JRSG member Navy Commander Dan Wells to discuss Wells’ knowledge about theories of Earth geological changes, including crustal displacement and crustal pole shift theories.”

Give us a run-down on this, will you?

S: Yes, well, that pretty much explains it. The team looks at these kinds of things, even using Navy dolphins.

I: Navy dolphins, yes, we wanted to follow up on that at some point. What part do they play here? Some aspects of the Navy’s program on this is classified.

S: Well, I’m familiar with the Navy’s “Marine Mammal Program” based in San Diego because I wrote stories on it when I was a newspaper reporter in San Diego. I talked with the public affairs officer for the program, and did some other research.

The Navy dolphins are a part of the story. One of the sub-teams of the group is working with that program.

Anyway, this Navy commander knows about geology and some of these views about geological, uh, let’s say, problems. He and the others talk about these ideas of Earth changes, crustal shifts, geological disasters in the past, and theories about future things like this.

I: Right, okay, I’ve heard of this kind of thing, I think.

Then there’s Chapter Twenty: “UFO Over Phoenix,” and it says, “Based on the real-life 1997 event that made national headlines, multiple witnesses in Arizona and the metro Phoenix area see a large triangle or boomerang-shaped craft drift silently over the city, going from northwest to southeast, one evening.”

S: It just sort of goes over that incident, and the group takes a look at it, and tries to see how it fits in with what they’re doing. Then, this ties in with the final climax in a way.

I: Very well. Let’s move on to this description of Chapter Twenty-three, “Hidden Canyon” and Chapter Twenty-four, “Unexpected Guests.”

Let’s see here, “At a special seminar of sorts in an ancient kiva, at the bottom of a hidden canyon near the Monument Valley area, dozens of guests and VIPs witness, and experience, a strange anti-gravity phenomenon.”

“As this unfolds other unusual and urgent developments at the top of the canyon include the appearance of a triangular-shaped craft that plays a key role in the final climax.”

S: Those are the final chapters, and the final climax, so some interesting things happen. They have a meeting, or sort of a seminar up on the Navajo Nation near the Four Corners. And some things happen. There is a strange anti-gravity kind of situation.

Like it says there. The UFO is similar to the Phoenix Lights one. And some other things happen that create some danger.

I: Good. Let’s move on to the sequel, “Light’s Hand.” It says here for “Chapter One: MessageS: Two National Security Agency officials visit WWII Marine Code Talker veteran Joe Bear at his home on the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona.”

“They ask him to interpret signals the NSA has picked up coming from deep space. The signals are in Morse Code and World War II Marine Corps Navajo Code Talker code.”

Tell us about this, will you?

S: Uh, the signals play a big part, all the way to the final climax. They’re in a complex code, the Navajo Code Talker method is kind of a double code. It’s in Navajo language and also using Navajo words that mean something different in a military intelligence way. And then, in Morse Code, it is a triple code.

But these signals are even more mysterious because they are unclear about exactly what the mean. They seem intentionally vague maybe. This guy Joe Bear can’t quite figure them out completely.

And, of course, they’re coming from deep space, which is part of the mystery. And Joe has some ideas on that too.
