Given the popularity of vampires in modern day culture, one might suppose that fans of the Highgate phantom would be leaving Valentines at the old Gothic cemetery – not so. Rather, he is being courted by those who tend to the dark side with cruder offerings of sacrificed swine. The Highgate entity is also being hunted by those bearing stakes to drive through his heart. Pursuing both is an ordained cleric in robes ready to exorcize all comers with a vengeance.
In a Gothic mansion located near the historic graveyard, one room is carefully illustrated with ornate occult circular designs painted in white in order to entice the force of the centuries-old apparition. According to witnesses, his presence causes the temperature to drop suddenly and a sense of timelessness to engulf the observer. A recent pedestrian came upon the phantom in the lane which runs through the cemetery, "Good evening Sir," the being whispered to him as he glided past, disappearing through the stone wall. This tall entity appears wearing a long black cloak and has glowing red eyes. Passing through walls is one of his hallmarks.
He was seen in Victorian times and in the 1970s. He has been encountered again in this, the first decade of the 21st century. His reappearance has been attributed to recent construction in the area. "The act of building can ignite a haunting," as they say. Spirit energies inhabit old stone foundations and are released to walk abroad when disturbed.
Another example of this occurred in Topanga Canyon, California which is a UFO hotspot. One witness was confronted with a hollow-eyed ghost creature by the side of a canyon road. The Native American shaman who was consulted about the appearance of this ghostly animal said that it had been stirred up by recent construction in the area.
At Highgate the new building is a split-level modern all-glass home which looks a bit out of place near the ivy-covered historic tombstones. It would be an ideal location for ghost-hunters to observe the goings-on.
Some believe the Highgate phantom to be the ghost of a coffin imported from Eastern Europe – from Transylvania perhaps? They cite the dead forest animals found there as evidence. Bloodless remains such as those found in the case of cattle mutilations can start rumors of vampire activity - this would not be the first time. Nothing assembles a mob with torches and pitchforks faster.
Red Eyed Entities
The fact that this being has red eyes indicates that he is a paranormal entity rather than a ghost. When these red-eyed types inhabit an area, earth animals are not safe. Take for example Skinwalker Ranch near Uintah, Utah which is home to a menagerie of red-eyed birds and beasts of all known paranormal types. Ranch animals are not welcome there. Besides numerous livestock mutilations of the UFO kind, there were incidents of visible energy warps which stalked and stampeded herds of expensive cattle and horses causing grievous injuries. At this location, researchers using military infrared binoculars observed a large ape-like creature entering our dimension through a conduit in the sky. It was crawling along on its elbows, it exited the conduit and sauntered away under the cover of night. It was a smooth-skinned black Bigfoot with eyes that glowed red like fire.
