Recently archaeological finds in the mountains of Greece have discovered evidence of rituals having being performed in the name of Zeus and other mythological Gods.
As a society we aren't much different today than we were then, we are still a ritualistic society cut up into factions who believe in their own God and Savior. There are as many Gods today as in ancient times; we just chose to classify them into differing religions that have their own ideas of God and Saviors and wall ourselves off from one and another by classifying everyone else's religion other than the one we belong to as false prophecy.
In some religions we accept a wafer as the body of Christ and drink the wine as the blood of Christ when in reality we haven't cleansed our souls or made any more redemptions in our hearts by doing this than if we had sit back at the dinner table and ate a sandwich, made by a bakery as the Church wafer was, and drank a glass of wine from a wine company, as the wine in Church was. It is simply the false idea that by doing this in Church we have made some sort of redemptive pact with God.
Most people who consider themselves religious are as far from understanding their own religion as those considered infidels to it.
The Christian religion glorifies the name Jesus Christ and most followers use the term Jesus Christ as if it was a complete name, however the word Christ has nothing to do with Jesus' name it is simply a title given to someone who has attained Christ hood as Jesus supposedly did.
In reality, we are little removed as a society from the idol worshiping fools who supposedly waited for Moses to return from meeting with God at the top of the mountain.
The reality of how little we have grown spiritually over the past two thousand years is a bitter horse pill to swallow but it is surely the scenario any extraterrestrial visitor to our "Blue She Devil" would see.
Today we have the technology to virtually see the goings on of each individual, with the far-reaching technology any alien civilization must have, they must surely be able to see into the minds and hearts of each individual and know the evil within.
What ever extraterrestrial civilization , or number of them there may be monitoring this planet and its civilization surely are also using their technology in the form of implants, subliminal messaging, spiritual epiphany's ,and physical evidence such as sightings and crop circles to bring about a change in our spiritual and mental core of out dated superstitious beliefs.
Who knows? We would all be surprised if we were being visited by extraterrestrials and found out that they were here to contact the planet's most intelligent beings, which were whales and dolphins.
