February 7, 2009: It looks like the space shuttle on the back of an airplane. I would check to see if they were moving one of the shuttles from one coast to another...saw it before when I lived in AZ - vampira309
February 7, 2009: I'm afraid it looks like a crow to me. I'm not sceptical of UFOs I wish it was a UFO, I've seen a few myself, but all I can see in this image is a crow flying past in the foreground some trees, some contrails and maybe another bird toward the top right just to the right of the lens flare, although it could be an ET mother ship hard to tell from a microscopic speck :) But I'm certain there's a bird flying past in the foreground (probably a crow) you can even see it's beak. - Amanda - Cardiff UK
February 8, 2009: Interesting picture. I live in Wichita and was stationed at McConnell in the 70s.
In 1975 I got to see a mother ship looking craft on a landing approach to the McConnell AFB airstrip.
The craft was the shape of the Goodyear blimp and as large or larger w/o the
gondola or fins. It had the airspeed of a jet and was about 200 feet overhead.
It made no noise. We were stopped at the stop sign at Pawnee and Woodlawn
on the north end of McConnell in daylight.
It was seen by my FIL as well as many others who called the radio station.
A month later I asked my FIL (retired AF) what he thought it was and he
just froze up and would not talk about it. It was as if he mentioned our
sighting to the wrong person and received a very stern warning.
FWIW my guess is that it was not a UFO, but a black project aircraft. I suppose
you are aware that the Boeing plant has/had a special projects group at the
Wichita plant.
Thanks for the article, Ed
February 9, 2009: I hate to say this Dirk but I think you're being bonged. That thing
is almost certainly a crow or raven flying left to right with its
wings partially uplifted, carrying something shiny in its mouth. The
Corvids are famous for their love of shiny things.
There's no reason that pink circle should be in the frame, either. I
can't tell what the light source is.
It's almost useless to get a photo like this unless you get the type
and model of camera and lens used and the photos information file,
wherein are recorded the shutter speed, ISO, f-stop, etc.
Good luck on this one, I think you're going to take a ribbing. – Malcolm
February 9, 2009: I took a look at the image. I think the dot in the upper right is a bug. I ran Astra Image's Maximum Entropy Deconvolution sharpening routine (Photoshop Plugin) on the image to try and enhance both objects. I include a low res pic with a high-res enlargement of just the dot. It looks like a bug and his wings flapping to me. I didn't have much success with bringing out too much more of the UFO object, unfortunately. Mike Broussard
February 10, 2009: Dear SIR! The UFO is nothing more than a BIRD! Look closely, you can see the beak and sunglint in it’s right eye. (the bird is flying left to right in the picture). Regards B. Denniston
February 10, 2009: On Friday night February 6th about 8pm CST. I was sitting out on my back deck with my daughter looking at the stars because it was so clear and warm for this time of year. To the west we have a real bright star or could be a planet for all I know. I'm really not into astronomy but it is a very bright star and kind of twinkles red and green. I was outside and my daughter was inside and we were talking with the door to the deck open. All of a sudden I saw something appear just to the right of this bright star. All I could see was the white light. At first I thought it was a plane until I saw how fast it was traveling. I have never seen anything move that fast! I watched it for about 15 seconds and then told my daughter to come out and look at it. It went from the west to the east in about 45 seconds until I could no longer see it in the east. It was very high in the sky and I have never seen something move like that across the sky. The one thing I will say is it didn't do anything but move in a straight line. It didn't jog left and zoom right or anything like that. It just moved like a bolt of lighting across the sky.
