The actual beam lights up an area of western Toronto that I would definitely describe as industrial.
The third photo shows nothing unusual, nothing extraordinary: everything had returned to normal.
This report and the accompanying photos seem to suspend believe. It is almost as if one was watching an episode of "Fringe" which coincidentally is shot in Toronto. We will follow-up on this story.
I wrote Grant and asked for clarification on a couple of details. The following are his answers:
"Yes the shots were taken from the CN tower for sure. when i say the "top" i mean the first observation deck the elevator takes you to. its not like i somehow scaled the building and hung off it for a picture - this picture is taken behind the glass on that deck - My wife, daughter and I where there between between december 28th and january 1st to visit my brother just after Christmas. I belive the picture was taken on December 29th.
He added, "None of us noticed the light in the photos when they were taken, we were just trying to get some pictures of the great expance of the city. We first noticed the light when we were later doing a little slide show of our trip. Coming from our small town here in Kenora Ontario, we were just trying to get some big city scape style pictures and had no idea there was something else there. It didn't seem like a reflection. In fact, because we shot 3 pictures in quick succession we assumed it was something different."
If you know what the genesis of this beam of light is or have additional information please contact Grant or myself by email.
