As to the use of the word "abduction." It may not be a literal kidnapping, falling under the definitions of a Philip Klass. (the late Phillip Klass insisted that if citizens were being abducted, then we should be reporting this to the FBI, since kidnapping is a crime.) Still, individuals are being taken -- regardless of on what level; mind, body, sprit, astral plane -- against their will, from a safe place (home, car, etc. ) to some "mondo weirdo" setting made up to appear as flying saucers from other planets. The individual or "abductee" finds her or himself in communication with non-human entities, in other worldly places, and not because they want to be there. While there, they are at the control of these entities at all times. In that sense, they have certainly been abducted.

While the term "alien abduction" may not be literally correct -- we don't know if they are ET, and if they're literally being taken aboard craft -- it is an accurate description of what has happened to thousands of people all over the world. The two words serve as a good metaphor for the experience.
