Art Champoux has been an UFO investigator since 1964. He has worked with Ray Fowler, Walter Webb, John Keel, a lady that he can not name, and several different UFO groups. In the 1960s he was with APRO, CAPER, NIACP, then when APRO went out he was with NICAP and then APRO, Now he is with MUFON. The world of the paranormal has always fascinated him as even as a small boy he had some eerie happenings. His Great grandmother was a spirit medium so maybe he has inherited something. He is a hypnotist and has written for several publications and his leanings are much like John Keels. He beleives there is an ultra force, not from outer space, but much like John's and even Jaques Vallees' contention...we are but one dimension out of many that reign on this planet.

As we go through the "way back" machine there have been many UFO groups and organizations. Their names are always short - acronyms such as: APRO, NICAP, CAPER, MUFON, FSR, IFSB and I have found several more in almost all countries of the world. Why the influx of all the groups? Because the mind of man is almost a "cosmic mind." We do not think we "are alone" and that keeps us searching for others!
APRO stands for the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization. They were one of the first groups along with NICAP, National Investigation Committee Aerial Phenomena. Then came Flying Saucer Review and then the International Flying Saucer Bureau and the Committee Aerial Phenomena Evaluation and Research were founded. These were just a few organizations started in America. Many more were establishd around the world!
There were some that were way out there in their beliefs as witnessed in the last 10-15 years. This was the lunatic fringe: an example would be the Heaven's Gate Cult.
But for the most part the pioneers were NICAP and APRO. They were the groups that tried very hard to make the UFO enigma a respectable "scientific effort" to find answers. Their membership consisted of engineers, astronomers and the scientists, that had areas of expertise necessary to investigate the abundance of unexplained sightings of the aerial enigma that were roaming our atmosphere of our planet.
Some believe that the extraterrestrials came to earth only after the United States had exploded the atom bomb? They are forgetting that 20-30 thousand years ago early man was covering cave walls with paintings of unknown aerial craft. These cave drawings and paintings appeared worldwide, but perhaps some of the best examples appear in France. So these "flying objects" are nothing new! One theory claims that they were all ready here and others claim that GOD, or YAHWEH was an ancient astronaut!
