AN ILLUSION: YES OR NOPart I

Recently, I had a conversation with my good friend, author buddy, John Bushore. I asked him if he had ever seen a UFO. Well, sure, he had replied. I have seen an unidentified flying object. He went on to describe an incident that took place 35 years ago, when he was in the Navy. His ship was traveling through the murky waters of the Mediterranean Sea late one night. John was the 'officer of the deck' at the time and witnessed five lights in perfect V-formation. These lights were moving slowly and then began to zigzag getting lower and lower over the distant horizon. When his watch was completed, John's curiosity got the best of him and decided to stay until the sun came up. John just had to know if it was a UFO or not. Well, it was not. There were five fishing boats with a light on each mask trolling one net together. They had to stay in formation, because of the net. John explained to me about how easy it is to get manipulated by illusion. After all, it happened at night. The lack of light in an open place and the movement of the water gave those lights from the boats the illusion of a UFO.
Since I had pictures of a UFO, I felt rather dumbfounded. Did my pictures offer the same illusion of a UFO, which were explainable? I shared these pictures taken at night. John asked if I had taken from a window. My answer was, "No!" I confirmed I had been standing on the back porch innocently taking pictures of the full moon. I did not notice the UFO object, until I had downloaded the pictures and adjusted the brightness/contrast settings to see the single tree in my backyard. I had taken the pictures capturing the moon above the treetop. The pictures were so dark, because like a dummy I did not use the infrared setting on the digital camera. As I explained to John, I was taken by surprise to see a green disc-shaped object on my right side near the tree. In another picture, the green object had moved behind the branches of the tree. John asked if there were any outside lights which might have reflected off of something else. I told him, 'No.' The only light that night came from the moon. John just simply nodded trying to offer an explanation about what appeared in the photos.
Grinning, John decided to confide in me about something he had witnessed in the night sky from his back yard. Ironically, my captured UFO was taken around the same time as when he saw a UFO in his back yard. John's backyard is in the country. Since it is flat land with no one around, he has a clear view of the sky and can see various constellations when it is not cloudy. On this particular evening, John saw a rapid moving light across the sky. He knew it was not an aircraft, since they have blinking lights. Besides, it moved so fast. The light arched across the sky away from John. Then, it looped back towards him, before disappearing into the unknown.
John does not have a picture to show, but I do. Take a look at the two pictures. The question remains, is it an illusion or is it real?
