"My name is Paul and i would like to share with you something that happened (truly happened ) way back in 1981. At the time i was 16. It was sometime in the evening that i went looking for my mother who i knew was in the ground floor flat next door with a neighbour, having a friendly cup of tea, etc. As I was approaching the flat something caught my attention above me. When i gazed up i thought it must be someone shaking a carpet or some pigeon's fluttering around perhaps? My block of flats goes up to 2 floors. I would say it's about 50 ft high (rough guess). After about 5 seconds i realised that i was looking directly underneath a large spinning dark - grey metallic disc. Now, all of a sudden i thought. What is a giant metal spinning disc doing hovering silently above my block?

It was up there hovering and spinning about 300 ft above me. It seemed to shift to the side, to my right, and move in that direction still directly over the block. I kind of ran straight into the flat where my mother was with our neighbour Bill. I told them to come to the living room window as i was certain they would see something . Sadly the sky was empty. I can still see it now in my mind, just an empty old cloudless night sky. As I try to understand this experience i wonder if this craft appeared only to me for some reason, and didn’t want reveal itself to anyone else?

I have studied many UFO cases lately and this kind of explanation seems quite plausible considering this happened in South Hackney , in the East end of London. People find my story so bizarre because of the location i had this sighting. It just goes to show that these things don't just happen over places like Area 51 or out in some dessert in New Mexico! Interestingly, my block of flats where i had the sighting lies right next to quite an open - space area, a huge park together with some big football pitches also a big landscape green surrounding it all. I suppose i am just trying to understand it as much as i can. I could share many other stories of stuff that has happened to me, but this event was truly a remarkable thing."
