 Art Champoux has been an UFO investigator since 1964. He has worked with Ray Fowler, Walter Webb, John Keel, a lady that he can not name, and several different UFO groups. In the 1960s he was with APRO, CAPER, NIACP, then when APRO went out he was with NICAP and then APRO, Now he is with MUFON. The world of the paranormal has always fascinated him as even as a small boy he had some eerie happenings. His Great grandmother was a spirit medium so maybe he has inherited something. He is a hypnotist and has written for several publications and his leanings are much like John Keels. He beleives there is an ultra force, not from outer space, but much like John's and even Jaques Vallees' contention...we are but one dimension out of many that reign on this planet.

Can a person actually levitate?

 "I am Nyang Pa."
I snapped out of my lethargy and jumped up.
"I'll say. I have been seeking you! How did you find me?"
"It was easy. Your trail is wide............
I asked him to sit down in a chair but he preferred to squat cross-legged on the floor.
"I am not use to chairs," he explained.
"I have been watching your progress..." He continued.
"How? Through linga sharrira?" I asked.
He smiled again,
"I see you have learned something here."
I offered him a cup of instant coffee. He took one sip, shuttered and gulped the whole thing down like a glass of whiskey.
During the next hour we talked about Sikkim and the lamaseries and Tibet, Hr said he was from Tibet and now spent his life alone in the hills of BHUTAN and Sikkim, searching for the "right ways."
"They tell me you're a great Siddha," I said at last.
He wrinkled his brows and looked down at the floor. "No. no, I am just a simple lama. What you mean is that I am a magician. I am not. I only practice the teachings of my religion."
I described the mysterious séance at Changthang and my experiences with the telepathic lamas.
"Those are primitive things," he said with disdain." Our things go beyond such crude things."
"Can you show me something? Teach me something."
"It would take you a life time of solitude but perhaps." "Perhaps I can introduce you to the principles."
He struggled to his feet, pressed one hand on the top of his stick, a heavy branch about 4 feet long, frowned a little with effort and slowly lifted his legs up off the floor until he was sitting cross legged in the air!
There was nothing behind him or under him. His sole support was his stick, which he seemed to use to keep his balance. I was astounded.
"Can you teach me this?" I asked hopefully.
'NO. It is not something you can learn over night. It is a matter of will."
He conducted the rest of our conversation sitting there in empty space."
The book goes on to tell that everything John thought to ask the lama to teach him was always answered the same way.
The lama simply said, "NO. I cannot teach you. You must learn it for yourself with practice. After you have mastered that you can go on to more difficult things."
John experienced levitation and other marvelous feats and mysteries because he went in search of them. And as any true adventurer he wrote of his trips and turned these writings into books that are just as popular today and there were when they were first written.
I was very fortunate to have known John for many years between the 1960s and up to the 1980s.
