Our Alien Planet: This Eerie Earth By Sean Casteel and Timothy Green Beckley

While it is quite rightly considered ill mannered to blow your own horn, I would still like to offer some personal insight into "Our Alien Planet: This Eerie Earth" in the hope that it will encourage people to take a look at something a little out of the norm in terms of paranormal literature.
First of all, this book was truly a collaborative effort with my editor and publisher Timothy Green Beckley. I would very much like to flatter us both and say that we were similar to Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame in our efforts together, but suffice it to say that we at least produced a book which should elicit interest from both believer and skeptic alike. And likely make neither group completely happy with what's here.
"Our Alien Planet" has two basic purposes: to examine some of the many non-extraterrestrial explanations for UFOs and other mysterious sightings of anomalous lights and to argue the case that Mother Earth is not a mindless lump of clay circling the sun but is instead a conscious living entity who tries earnestly to speak to humankind but whose voice is only discerned by a few psychics and "sensitives."
In order to understand both of those concepts, I interviewed several experts on anomalous phenomena. For instance, I talked to Joshua Warren, who has formed a scientific study group to learn the secrets of the Brown Mountain Lights in North Carolina. I also spoke to Phil Imbrogno, a veteran UFO investigator who co-wrote a book on the Hudson Valley Sightings with the late J. Allen Hynek. Imbrogno has documented many strange spook light phenomena in the New England countryside that seem linked to ley lines and other forms of paranormal energy. Diane Tessman, the well known psychic and channel for The Star Network, told me about many of her adventures with fairies and earth spirits, as well as her experiences with the psychic energy emitted by ley lines.
When combined with Tim Beckley's stories and research into similar earthbound mysteries, the book forms kind of a patchwork quilt of information and informed speculation. Nearly every page is crammed with documentation and photos, most of it from Beckley's personal archives collected over more than forty years. Certainly no Johnny-Come-Lately to the field of paranormal research, one gets the full benefit of Beckley's expertise, from spirit investigations in Hawaii to a trip to England, where Beckley was asked to address a special committee of the House of Lords on the UFO phenomenon. While there in the U.K. Beckley also investigated strange phenomena at the former home of the late Aleister Crowley and Beckley's research there is included in "Our Alien Planet."
Beckley also covers a great deal of interesting ground by affirming the relationship between UFOs and earthquakes. In the time period shortly before, during and for sometime after an earthquake, strange lights are invariably seen in the vicinity that many are quick to label as alien spacecraft whose occupants are expressing an interest in or even causing the disaster to happen. It is Beckley's contention that the lights are at the very least an expression of something under intelligent control though very different from the usual nuts-and-bolts interpretation provided by the UFO believers. Are the lights another manifestation of a moody Mother Earth?
Everything mentioned here in this review is only a foretaste of what the book contains. So much is jam packed into the 140 pages of "Our Alien Planet: This Eerie Earth," not to mention the audio CD that comes with it, that it is impossible to touch on it all in the space available here. I will say, however, that if you think this kind of treatment of the paranormal is interesting, you may also want to check out some other titles of mine on Amazon.com, such as "UFOs, Prophecy and the End of Time" and "Signs and Symbols of the Second Coming." In any case, if you're ready for something a little bit out of the comfort zone of typical UFO/paranormal literature, "Our Alien Planet: This Eerie Earth" will interest and amuse you even as it opens your eyes to new ways of seeing.
