"The UFO Smokescreen" Part II
The Real Secret of the Robertson Panel Report A Semantic Analysis of 1950's Network TV Cover-ups UFO Cover-up in 1957 Posted: 13:30 April 21, 2008 It is the author's opinion that the real conclusions of the Robertson Panel can be found embedded in the subtext of the panel's findings. To give the reader a clear idea of what I mean by "subtext" (i.e. between the lines) and "embedded", we must do a parsing and semantic analysis of the aforesaid embedded phrases, which when joined, concatenated in strings by their common theme(s), speak volumes and reveal to us what I call "The Real Secret of The Robertson Panel Report": "We cite as examples the clogging of channels of communication by irrelevant reports, the danger of being led by continued false alarms to ignore real [---- BLACKED OUT ---- BLACKED OUT---] indications of hostile action, and the cultivation of a morbid national psychology in which skillful hostile propaganda could induce hysterical behavior and harmful distrust of duly constituted authority...for the timely recognition and the appropriate handling of true indications of hostile action, and to minimize the concomitant dangers alluded to above, the Panel recommends: … That the national security agencies institute policies on intelligence, … designed to prepare the material defenses and the morale of the country to recognize most promptly and to react most effectively to true indications of hostile intent or action… (T)hese aims may be achieved … to train personnel to recognize and reject false indications quickly and effectively, and to strengthen regular channels for the evaluation of and prompt reaction to true indications of hostile measures. " The question naturally arises: If Flying Saucers are not real, why should did Robertson and his cronies recommend that we have to be trained "to recognize and reject false indications quickly" from "true indications of hostile measures"? In my opinion (and according to my understanding of the English language), ONLY a real threat (from a conscious adversary, possessing the ability to plan "false indications" strategically) would actually be capable of presenting either "false indications" or "true indications of hostile measures." How can there be "true indications of hostile measures" from a phenomenon that does not exist? Let us consider the very first sentence: "We cite as examples the clogging of channels of communication by irrelevant reports, the danger of being led by continued false alarms to ignore real [---- BLACKED OUT ----] indications of hostile action," One must really wonder to oneself (if one has any wonder left in him): "What are the missing words in the redacted sections that are marked "------------[---- BLACKED OUT ----]--------------- [---- BLACKED OUT ----]" ??? Let's use linguistics, semantics, lateral thinking, logic, and psychology to figure this out. What would be the most likely "verboten" word (or words) that have been "blacked out"? What is the government afraid that we will see? To find the answer to "What was the forbidden topic"? Or topics?" we should simply ask: "What was the subject of the panel's investigation?" I surmise with 60 years of hindsight that in a word or two, the forbidden topic has to be "Flying Saucers or UFOs. That was the unmentionable topic, which "The panel recommends that the national security agencies take immediate steps to strip … of the special status they have been given and the aura of mystery they have unfortunately acquired." I'd wager; "Flying Saucers or UFOs" is not a bad guess. If this speculation is "nonsense," then the resultant sentence should read like "nonsense" too…N'est pas, Dumas? Let's see how our phrase fits in the blacked out section and hear how it reads. Inserting our "calculated guess(es)" into the "----[Blacked Out]----" sections, we read: ""3. The Panel further _concludes_: We cite as examples the clogging of channels of communication by irrelevant reports, the danger of being led by continued false alarms to ignore real [Flying Saucers or UFOs] indications of hostile action, and the cultivation of a morbid national psychology in which skillful hostile propaganda could induce hysterical behavior and harmful distrust of duly constituted authority...for the timely recognition and the appropriate handling of true indications of hostile action," As I often say "The truth is simple." Our method has been quite simplistic, but in reality, there we have the secret in "a nutshell." Of course, the deletions are lengthier and far more detailed but it really just boils down to this: Flying Saucers are real and they pose a great psychological threat to the nation, as well as, a potential threat to the military supremacy and national security of the United States. In 1957, they had not exhibited any overt hostile actions yet (except, as the panelists knew, when fired upon or attacked by our aircraft). However, the potential threat of attack ("indications of hostile actions") was clearly a major concern and the "noise" (i.e. interference) of thousands of UFO reports across the country could impede the military in the national defense by distracting it from discerning "true indications of hostile actions" from "false indications" of UFO attacks. Now, I would add, having previously read a CIA Office of Scientific Investigations briefing report on this committee's findings (an internal CIA "report on the report"), it becomes clear that it was of greater concern to Central Intelligence that the known hostile intentions of and threats from the Soviet Union toward the US posed a greater threat to national security at that time than did the "unknown intentions" of extraterrestrial visitors (about whom we knew very little, and whose activities in our skies and airways we were powerless to counter in any way). Moreover, it was greatly feared that should the Soviet Union ever learn of the serious nature of US Government interest, investigation or research into Flying Saucers and UFOs, the Soviets would be compelled to follow-up, investigating in their stead and to their own advantage. It was even considered likely that the Soviets might well attempt to make contact with the extraterrestrial visitors in order to form an alliance with them against the United States! Furthermore, it was recognized that any technology recovered from UFOs by us (alone) could catapult the United States to world supremacy militarily, as it could do any nation who reverse engineered it, discovered its secrets and developed it for military purposes. Whereas, if the Soviets had no inkling of recovered UFOs or even of our belief in the reality of such phenomena, they would view the cost of pursuing "hoaxes" or "mass hallucinations" as a prohibitive waste of money and resources and would thus be dissuaded (by our deception and counter-intelligence) from engaging in such a futile pursuit. But if the Soviets were to learn of our recovered extraterrestrial technology, they would develop their own acquisition/procurement processes and reverse engineering programs, which if successful, might spur the Communists to surpass us in advanced aviation principles, hypersonic flight, space exploration and space technologies. However, the Robertson Panel certainly recognized the scientific advantages in research and development of U.S.-recovered Flying Saucer technology, citing metallurgy as of prime importance, and one which should be guarded from Soviet knowledge or acquisition at all costs. During the 1950s, this official, sub rosa CIA policy came to mean that all measures would be used to keep UFOs Top Secret. This included surveillance, stalking, menacing and "termination with extreme prejudice" of individuals who had wittingly or unwittingly acquired or possessed physical samples (especially, metals or metallic debris) of any kind left by UFOs or Flying Saucers. Uncooperative witnesses had to be silenced and the material taken from them (willingly or unwillingly) to prevent the Soviet Union or any other nation on Earth from acquiring any materials of any kind whatsoever originating from human encounters, interactions with or experience of the UFO phenomenon in the air, the sea or on the ground. During the same interview with Mike Wallace, Maj. Keyhoe forthrightly exposed the existence of Air Force Regulation 200-2, which Wallace denied actually existed. AFR 200-2 certainly does exist and, most importantly, is still in effect among USAF personnel. Read AFR 200-2 www.nicap.org/directives/afr200-2_081254.htm Wallace furthermore claimed, regarding the US Air Force: "I must confess that they have... they've certainly shown me no classified material, but they have opened their files quite willingly…" Yet, the fact is that the USAF had certainly shared "classified material" with Wallace by simply feeding him conclusions and recommendations of the Robertson Panel, whose very existence (and the fact that many on the rigged panel were working as agents of the CIA) was classified "Top Secret" in 1957. Note the names given to the Robertson Panel in the CIA's Durant Report below and the organizer in the title below: "REPORT OF SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY PANEL ON UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS CONVENED BY OFFICE OF SCIENTIFIC INTELLIGENCE, CIA January 14 - 18, 1953 " Major Donald E. Keyhoe and NICAP continued to battle for government disclosure of UFO information from the 1950s through the 1980s. Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to Major Keyhoe and others who courageously ventured into the murky, dangerous waters of Flying Saucers, UFOs, intelligence intrigues and challenged national security paranoia in the 1950s to bring public attention to one of the most important issues facing mankind today. Major Keyhoe's work has prepared the American public for the prospect of perhaps immanent contact with a race of alien beings who have been watching the Earth and us for a very long time or the possibility of an interplanetary war with them. But has anything really changed since Major Keyhoe's days. What is the current US Air Force policy and thesis on UFOs and the possible existence of extraterrestrial intelligence? Let's visit the U.S.A.F.'s. "Air University" and see what we find.. Well, Look at this! Here is the cover page of an old student thesis dating way back to 1968, forty years ago! AIR AND STAFF COLLEGEUFOs AND EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE A Thesis Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of The Requirements for Graduation Captain Stanley's thesis states that "unknowns have accumulated" and describes "thoughts on physical seizure." Is it possible to seize physically something that doesn't exist? I don't think so. I think the U.S. Air Force has really come to believes in Flying Saucers/UFOs and would like to tell the American public what they know but they just don't know how. The U.S. Air Force and the United States Government are stuck in a "Catch 22" of their own creation, mutually bound by lies and, like the Fallen Watchers in The Book of Enoch, "bonded by mutual imprecations." "O, what tangled webs we weave when first we practice to deceive!" The piles of lies that they have plied upon the American public and the falsehoods foisted for over 60 years now cement them to their position, which appears to be, painted into a corner, like the Ol' Navy saying goes… "holding their ankles." Where is Captain Yossarian when we really need him? (--------< M* >-------) This article is dedicated to the memory of Major Donald E.
