The reason we are in danger is that after the flood, they were banished to roam through space, and just like NASA demonstrated with their astronauts, space stopped them from aging, but also increased their heads, but shrunk their bodies.

In addition, God stripped their souls. Also, remember they were like the people before us that could live for hundreds of years, and with their angelic powers, they can live for quite a long time. Only something like the Roswell crash would be able to kill them.

The big problem for us is they became angry and wanted revenge for what God did to them. They decided to come up with various ways to make the descendants of Noah suffer. They saw their first chance when Noah cursed is son Ham, and encouraged him to recreate the world of before. The result would eventually become the new Egyptian empire, and Atlantis. God decided that Atlantis was putting the world back too fast to the previous world, so He sunk it. But the Ancient Hebrews, as I like to call them, found a way to go between space and Atlantis. The two entries became where the Bermuda triangle is and off the Japanese coast. There is also another in South America.

The reason for abductions are similar to what Star Gate was about. They wanted to create worlds that are similar to our own that they wanted God to leave them alone.

But back to the revenge part. Throughout history they have been slowly advancing our civilization so as to eventually create the wrath that was experience during the time of Noah. The Ice Age was God, however, when He stopped the Earth from spinning so that David could defeat the Philistines.
