WHERE HAVE ALL THE SPACEMEN GONE?by Tim R. Swartz

It used to be in the good old days of UFOs, (June 24, 1947 to 1973) that the strange craft were piloted by a wide range of flying saucer folk. There were little people, big people, blond blue-eyed space brothers, monsters, robots, saints and demons from the sky and many more.
It seemed as if we were being visited by every inhabited planet in the galaxy. The Earth must have been the Disney world of the universe to account for all the different types of space people dropping in to check us out.
Today, that has all changed. Instead of a nice diverse mix of UFOnauts, we are stuck with the same boring old big-eyed grays. What has happened to all the others? Has the Earth been shut down for economic reasons? Have we been auctioned off in a celestial Ebay to the highest bidders, namely the grays? Where have all the spacemen gone?
THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF UFO OCCUPANTS
From the very beginning strange beings have been seen in association with UFOs. On July 23, 1947 in Bauru, Brazil, a Brazilian survey worker, Jose C. Higgins and his crew saw a large "Saturn" shaped object land and disgorge three, seven-foot tall entities. These beings were dressed in transparent suits inflated like "rubber bags." All three creatures were bald with large round eyes, no facial hair, and legs longer in proportion than a human.
In August of 1947, Professor R. L. Johannis, while on a hike near Friuli, Italy, came across a large "lens" shaped object perched vertically on a rocky ledge. Nearby were two "boys" or so Johannis thought. When the Professor shouted at the "boys" about the strange craft, they shot him with what he described as a "smoke-ray." Johannis experienced an electric shock that laid him out flat on the ground, unable to move but still conscious.
When the two beings approached he could tell that they were not boys but strange humanoids. The two creatures were about three feet tall with "earthy-green skin," long straight noses, and large, protruding eyes that was the color of two "well-ripened yellow-green plums." Their hands had eight fingers, four on each side making a claw rather than a normal hand.
The two beings left Johannis to climb back into the saucer, which removed itself from the ledge and silently disappeared. It wasn't until three hours later that Johannis felt strong enough to get up and return to the inn where he was staying. At the time Johannis had never heard of "flying saucers," so he though he had seen some experimental airship of the allied forces.
