Betty Hill's "The Supervisor": A Visceral Reaction
by Regan Lee

I’ve written before about my unexpected and random response to images. The so-called typical gray rarely does this to me; they’re almost cartoon like at this point, although when the cover of Whitley Strieber’s Communion, painted by artist Ted Seth Jacobs, hit the shelves, he heard from people all over the world who had upsetting reactions However, I’ve had deeply disturbing and unpleasant reactions to a few images. The only negative response I’ve had to the grays with almond shaped eyes was of an image of several grays looking down at someone on a table shown on television years ago; the view is of the viewer looking up into all those pairs of black orbs staring down at him, or her. Here’s what I wrote for UFO Digest in February of 2007 about this deep level reaction to images:

Many years ago, while watching a television program on UFOs, an image of aliens looking down at some poor human presumably strapped to a table (regardless: he/she was certainly there against their will) came on the screen, and I almost jumped out of my chair, I was so freaked. Which of course made me feel very damn silly. A few months ago, an image came on the television of red eyed , gray like aliens, running towards the viewer. That also startled me in a very unexpected, nervous induing way. And today I was over at Lesley’s Debris Field blog, and the image she had up (which I borrowed and have here) did the same thing: creeped me out. (This last image: I didn’t even notice the little spindly bastards were moving until just now, when I was getting ready to post this. Hmm, double dose of creepy.)

It was the large roundness of those deep dark spheres in Richard’s painting shown the other night that caused me to react so strongly, as well as the bottomless black eye color. While I did have a negative reaction to the “typical” almond shaped eyes in the previously mentioned image, the other reactions have been to beings with large round eyes, including red eyes at times, as with many of the Mothman artwork.

In Captured!, Betty Hill comments about the eyes of the beings:

“...we had never seen eyes like theirs before. In some manner, both of us blocked out a full description of these. Whenever Dr. Simon said “eyes” to me, I burst out crying. Something about the eyes was terribly upsetting to me.” (Captured! p145)

(This last bit about crying is interesting; abruptly, on the drive back into Eugene from McMinnville, I began to cry, and I have no idea why. In fact, I was having an anxiety attack, and it was very disturbing. This could be due to anything; allergies, tiredness, asthma, disruption of a usual routine, who knows. But it was downright weird in its abruptness and just from out of nowhere. Was there another explanation for this intense shift in emotion, having to do with things stirred up from the steady dose of UFO phenomena material over the past three days?) Betty continues concerning her response to large round black eyes: “When I look at the eyes of the Wall Gecko, I became physically ill, a feeling of horror. I cannot say that the eyes are the same, but from my reaction to this, I suspect that they are. . .” (Captured! p146)

And, as I’ve so often experienced when writing about these experiences, Betty continues, relating “feelings of being upset, ill, etc.” as she is writing, and notes the oddness of her reaction to geckos and other creatures such as insects, since she “has no fear” of those animals.

All very interesting and I have no idea what it means. I don’t recall any literal visitations or abductions or sightings of aliens. While I’ve had a life time of UFO sightings, missing time, dreams, and encounters with entities during mediation and on the astral plane, I can’t say I’ve had anything straightforward or literal occur. Yet clearly there is some subconscious memory of something that remains hidden, either by my own choice or “theirs.”

The eye shape and color is curious; my responses have mostly been to round, and in some cases, red glowing eyes. (I did have an experience with a red eyed entity when a child.) Is this image closer to the truth or reality of some part of the phenomena? Or just a symbol, a trigger but without any specific meaning? It’s all speculation of course, but through our speculations we can uncover some intriguing clues to the mystery.

When It Strikes A Nerve
Regan, I can certainly identify with your reactions at that presentation. Myself, my father and, my younger brother have all had encounters with short, stocky blue midget looking beings. The encounters started for each of us around age 4 or 5. These are the same dark blue looking ET's talked about by Whitley Streiber and portrayed in the movie Communion. It took me three tries before I could finally watch that movie all the way through. When a visual image strikes a nerve it can certainly hit home hard.

Strange vs. Normal
The impression of "strangeness" comes from something which is alien to the human race, human essence, human Being. The human Being is being in God, with God, and from Him (Her). That is normal. Our original human being can recognize what is right and normal and of God. God is not an alien, as some UFO theorists postulate. God by definition is eminently Normal. For us humans, when something is alien, we shy away from it, it is not good. But when something is truly "Normal", our original being confirms that, and we draw to that like lambs to their Shepherd. I believe there are aliens, E.T.s, UFOs, or angels, whatever you want to call them. And there are most likely "nice" and "nasty" ones. But the whole alien world, the galactic alliance, would have to be in God's approval, or else He would not allow them to transcend their own planetary realms. So we can assume that an Intergalactic Peace Treaty or ban on warfare is in operation. Once we reach that peaceful state, we will also be allowed to move on to the next phase of cosmic outreach. All the best!
