Ten years ago, I chastised many of the rabbis and Israeli scientists involved
in the Bible Code research because they had fallen into pursuits of divination
and kabbalah. It is one thing to believe that God did indeed dictate the Torah
to Moses word for word, but it is another to try and look for secret codes.
The Torah itself warns us about that.
"There shall not be found among you anyone who uses divination, or practices
witchcraft or who interprets omens or is a sorcerer, or who casts a spell or
is a medium or is a spiritist or who calls up the dead. For whosoever does
these things is detestable to the Lord." Deuteronomy 18:10-12.
If that rebuke was good enough for the Bible Code rabbis who tried divination
in Hebrew, than I guess it is especially apropos for Mr. Val Tenuta who tried
it in English.
Sorry!
