Religion Our Greatest Deception
by Tony Elliott

I believe in God in the sense that there is an overall intelligence of which all things seen and unseen are a manifestation of thought from this mind itself.

Such a great intelligence desires us to grow spiritually and at some point in time evolutionize to the point of becoming the great mind itself from which we came in the first place. We are here on Earth as there are many civilizations scattered throughout the universe as a school of learning by realization.

It is not a concern of God what church we belong to or whom we may have had sex with but what we gather from our existence.

On a level of being righteous, it is possible, through realizations, for a murderer on death row to be higher spiritually than the priest who teaches mass every Sunday but has a closed mind that prevents him from any epiphany that would advance him.

Unfortunately most people who commit heinous crimes resort to reading the Bible and becoming religious not for any advancement spiritually but hoping to be forgiven for their crime so realistically they do not care that they have committed the crime only to find the easy way out by being forgiven.

Fortunately, in the scheme of things it just does not work that way.

I have always wondered how it is that those who believe that a great, omnipotent spirit being created the universe and all that is in it in six days, can be so critical of those who think that UFOs may be real and extraterrestrial in origin. I mean, think about it. Who’s crazier?

But on the other hand, I was raised a Christian and call myself one still. I am comfortable to hold that people of all walks are just far too dynamic, even in the throes of religion, to be so conveniently stereotyped.

Think about things
Anything that has been written, has been written and then re-written, and re-written by the handlers of society. "There are no accidents" is cliche' but never has there been a more accurate statement. Churches were engineered to keep people distracted and fighting amongst themselves while the real evil, "illuminated ones" did what they do best, exploit. Have you noticed how they are allowing more and more signs of their cult to show in the public eye? Because they have everything in place now and there is not a hell of a lot that anybody will even try and do about it, they don't care who knows anymore. Mr Obama is such a liar and it's so evident buy his actions once he got in office. What can you expect from a blood relative of the bush's. Been nice while it lasted but from here on out it's going to get very very ugly..........Peace.

The way of things.
So Stephen,
When you burn your hand in a fire, God will come along and get burned for you, just so you don't scar your hand? Would that be a good thing for you? Wouldn't it be better that you did burn your hand so you could learn the valuble human lesson of "fire = hot, hot = burn, burn = ouch, ouch = DON'T DO THAT AGAIN STUPID!" or would it be better that you continue trying to cook your own limbs in every fire you come near, and god continuealy needing to be your personal asbestoes suit? Is spiritual pain or spirtual wisdom any less valuble? Water is wet, fire is hot, sin is costly, all have good and bad uses all have valuble lessons to teach us and God wants you to learn them all by doing them, not by obeying an arbitrary rule. If you never felt the warmth of a flame you would not KNOW that fire is hot but would be taking it on faith, and still not learning for yourself.

Catchy article...however...
Good or not, religion is the primary force that allowed our kind to evolve and reach our current state - when science was but in its infancy. I'm not so keen on dismissing belief systems that primarily did good for the time that they existed (and will continue to exist, no doubt). I think this for the same reason that it would be displeasing to us if future generations dismissed everything that we currently hold dear in terms of our modern understanding of the world and Universe - just because they've reached another level.

Stephen, you miss my point entirely. What I mean is one can read the Bible until Hell freezes over but the fact remains one will not be forgiven until that individual realizes the dastardly deed he or she has done and truly knows it was wrong and is accepting of the responsibility of the act.
It is a cowardly way out to expect God, Jesus or any other deity to forgive you for heinous behavior. It is up to the individual to accept their own misgivings and grow from them, or not.
Yes we are all God because we all share the spirit which is all there is in the seen and unseen.

Tony, you wrote,

"Unfortunately most people who commit heinous crimes resort to reading the Bible and becoming religious not for any advancement spiritually but hoping to be forgiven for their crime so realistically they do not care that they have committed the crime only to find the easy way out by being forgiven."
Total unconditional forgiveness is the essense of Christianity and is so simple that it does seem easy and cheap but it is not if it is sincere and only God knows if it truly is. It is the essense of spiritually to have Jesus take on all your sins and to die for your sin.

You concluded by saying that "Fortunately, in the scheme of things it just does not work that way."

Fortunately, you are not God because it does work that way!
