He studied astronomy and exobiology at Case Western Reserve University and graduated in 1969. “Preach the word, be ready in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction” (1 Timothy 4:2).
In the past several days there have been four assaults on “religion” published in UFO Digest by apparent non believers. First, there was Ron Murdock’s Is It worth It Being Religious? www.ufodigest.com/news/0609/being-religious.php then there was the article from the Russian magazine Pravda; Does Religious Dogma Destroy the Human Sex Life? www.ufodigest.com/news/0609/sexlife.php, then there was Tony Elliott’s Religion is the Greatest Deception www.ufodigest.com/news/0609/greatest-deception.php and finally there was Doc Edwards What Does the Bible Really Say about Psychics and Seers www.ufodigest.com/news/0609/psychics-seers.php.
Any true blue, born again, blood bought, spirit filled Christian knows that many of their allegations are obvious falsehoods but to all of you novices to God and His Church let me correct them as the Apostle Paul said to Timothy. I’ll try and be patient. As all of you know all too well, these ideas are important to me and I cannot ignore this chance for a necessary rebuke.

First of all there is a big difference between religion and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as all,genuine Christians know. See my http://www.ufodigest.com/news/0808/grateful.html. Large religious institutions like the Catholic Church are often pharisaical and legalistic and have blood on their hands because of the Crusades, Inquisition and pogroms and even because of their culpability in the Holocaust where Jesus Himself is love.
“Jesus said love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44).
“Jesus is the first born of the dead and to Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood” (Revelation 1:5).
Look, I am not the Grand Inquisitor of the Inquisition here that wants to burn these guys at the stake but Scripture says that “God is not mocked and we reap what we sow” (Galatians 6:7). These people must be held accountable for their false teachings. I know that “the message of the cross is foolishness to those that are perishing but to those of us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:25). That is the problem. These people are trying to teach you what is wrong with the word of God and the Church when they have no idea of what the truth really is. They are preaching to you a false gospel. They are all basically equating religion with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and these are often not the same. God help us from religion.
