THE HUM - What May Lurk Below!

I read a article in which a doctor who could not find a reason to easily explain this annoying noise decided (as is the way with many things that are unknown)- that the noise is in peoples imaginations. He decided they should all simply meditate the annoying hum away. I must admit this was without question the word of one who has not experienced this annoying drumming hum.

I returned home today after searching for the mysterious hum to find both my best friend and my sister sitting on my deck waiting for me. I had left in a hurry leaving my ice tea and sandwich sitting with my open running laptop on the patio table. It made them wonder where I was and gave them cause to sit and wait for me to return.

My sister had arrived first. Before I could say where I had been she asked me what that noise was. She said she noticed it as she sat waiting for me. She looked around to see if she could see a truck or some type of machinery nearby but did not notice anything. My friend arrived shortly after my sister and also remarked about the strange noise that seemed to be coming from everywhere yet not belong to anything.

I explained I was out searching for the root of that annoying rumble. I told them how I searched high and low yet found nothing that was making this background growl we all now sat listening to. I thought about the doctor who decided the sound was a fabrication of our minds and wondered how I managed to have this sound heard by both my sister and friend unless we were all having a united massive hallucination!

Throwing that idea out the window I went back to wondering exactly what was causing this hum that comes from nothing and goes with the wind. It seems to be notorious world wide for coming and going at a whim, which makes it all the more mysterious. My sister who lives about ten miles from my house told me she has heard the same hum a few times in her own yard. It is an odd occurrence that I truly have no answer to.

I have read of all kinds of explanations from high-tension wires (I have none of those near my home) to UFO’s. While discussing this on my deck as we listened to it today my friend thought maybe it was coming from below, like digging under ground or tunneling. That sent a chill down my spine as I could only wonder who or what would be doing that.

I have no ideas why I have joined many others out there who at times suffer from the annoying throbbing of this low humming noise. All I know is sometimes I hear it and when I do it is annoying.

I am curious how many others out there are also hearing this humming where they live or work? I wonder if they also are unable to locate the source of the noise. If so I would love to know about it.

For now pay attention to your surroundings and the things you hear in the dead of night. Who knows -when your least expecting it- you too may hear the mysterious earth wide sound of 'The Hum.'

Annoying hum

I heard it last night around 3am it lasted about an hour. It drove me crazy. It was a pulsating hum and just before the hum ended it went steady and stopped. I live in queens new york and I never heard it before until now.

High pitch hum UFO related or UFO implant related

10/16/2009------ HELLO Chris Holly, my name is Ruben Sierra from Palmdale, CA. I have heard the high pitch sound from 1975 to the current year of 2009, it all started in souther California, after many UFO sightings in house UFO actifity, not to mention that the late Dr. J. Allen Hynek took and interest in my instant case had it transfer from his (cufos) office to Mufon California Divisions. My case involves actual alien childhood abductions starting in 1952/1953, into my teenage years and I had (milabs) experience, while in the Marine Corps, which involved being taken to a desert location in California I believe if not Nevada. the high pitch hum started while married to my first wife and I had a small stepson of 6 years of age who complained of the high pitch noise in his bedroom at night, which he called the Bee's noise, one night after many months of UFO activity over our house, I was approx. 6 miles away in San Fernando, CA my wife asked me to pick up so bread and milk, on the way home.
After leaving the store that night I noticed a light over the intersection I was at and I knew from prior sightings it was a UFO, I then decided to test it and I took side roads home, and I would bring my car to a crawl speed and the UFO did the same,(overhead) I began to speed up and the UFO did the same, I would stop the car, in the no traffic location and again the UFO did the same, finally I went full speed to my house, I got out of the, at my door I glance upward and the craft was almost directly over my house, upon entering the house there was a great wind, extremely strong in nature, it slamed my entrance door with great force, which came from the UFO/CRAFT it was at this exact point and time in 1975 that I heard the high pitch noise for the first time, it is so hard to believe that a person standing next to me can't hear the HUM, but it is almost like there is an implant in me and I feel the UFO's monitor me and others who suffer from the high pitch noise, since my case is a high profile case ivestigated by the late Dr. J. Allen Hynek, and I have done the Brian Vike Canada Radio UFO program and the Jeff Rense Radio program on UFO's, I formally request you answer my email, at Sierraknowledge@sbcglobal.net thank you, Ruben Sierra. PS. the military UFO experience involves myself and 11 other U.S. Marines, being taken aboard a naval bus with blacken windows and black curtains over the windows, we were taken to a jet hangar location where a UFO was housed, and there was reptilian UFO interaction between the aliens and our military personnel. cell phone causing it?

I recently realized my normal tinnitus (high pitched) had morphed into a constant low pitched thrumming noise and it was not external. For a long time I figured it was road noise but then realized i was hearing it all over the place. This went on for several years. Sometimes chiropractic adjustment would lessen it somewhat.

I switched recently from one cell phone provider (I think they have 800 mHz towers/phones) to another provider which uses a higher frequency, I think 1900 mHz towers... and the hum has gone away!

'The Hum'

I have heard the Hum for many years, it just started up one night after I had returned from 2 weeks away. As others have said, I only hear it in my house and as soon as I go outside to try and find it, it gets lost.

It causes me difficulties trying to sleep but nobody else in my house can hear it.

I was wondering if women hear it more than men?

Weird Noise

Very strange how this is happening. Maybe there is an underground base that is playing low sound frequencies to tune into something for power or control.

Hum

This was referred to as the Taos Hum, at one point, because it was first noticed years ago in Taos, New Mexico. Recently other "hot spots" have come up around the world. One theory is that it could be the extremely low frequency radio waves the military uses to communicate with its submarines when they surface. Apparently, not everyone can hear this hum, and that is why it is so hard to track it down.

Me Too

I have heard it for several years however recently have not been plagued by it. I even called the Electric Company and someone came out and checked my wires etc. because it sounded like a transformer in the wall like from an old doorbell. For me, I could only hear it when I was inside a structure, like my car, the house, garage, and even at work (where I was not the only one to hear it). As soon as I left the structure I could not hear it. It was a very low frequency pulsing sound ... at times I thought it gave me semi-suicidal thoughts (not my normal way of thinking).
