In The Beginning God Createdby Ron Murdock Posted: 23:10 July 7, 2008
The opening line of the Bible states that "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth." Taking this line literally seems to indicate a starting point in history. If this is true what was God doing to keep occupied especially in light that God is supposed to be an eternal being? I would find it fascinating to find out just exactly how the Universe was created and what the mechanics were in doing so.
Since something can't be made out of nothing, we must look at the creation of the Universe in this way. Some believe the Big Bang Theory is what got things started. Others think the Universe is a continuation from somewhere else, such as entering one end of a Black Hole and coming out the other side of it.
Just how much can the most sophisticated technology tell us about the creation of the Universe? Or will it continue to be speculation or imagination on our part? To look into creation we need to step out of the usual temporal and time frame we've sent up for ourselves. But I believe what we heard about creation is metaphorical. I say this as no one was there at the time to see for themselves just precisely what happened. It would be quite interesting to find out though.
I also believe there is no end to the Universe. With all the energy, matter and gravity involved, there is always something happening to keep the Universe expanding. But just how much room is there for the Universe to keep going or is it beyond human comprehension?
Who wants to take a ride? Let us go and see what we can find as we explore one of the mysteries of life around us as we keep looking for answers and keep expanding our minds in the quest for knowledge.
