UFOs: Elementary Denials Explain Complex Reports? by David P Kuhlman UFO Researcher/ Book Reviewer/ Writer www.ufoforhumanrights.com Posted: 16:00 July 8, 2009 There are indeed many avenues that lead to the ongoing investigation of unidentified flying objects, as we know them. Many different people from all over the world, from different backgrounds and professions have been at one time, introduced to this phenomenon, either by personal experience or through the numerous materials written on the subject. As it is, we have prominent people in prominent positions that regularly report such activities, as well as reports from people we refer to as run of the mill, ordinary folk. Through all of these reports, no matter which community of people it comes from, there is still strong resistance to disregard the facts at hand, although there seems to be more of a reason to believe the reports of so called "qualified" or "trained" individuals, an issue I have great trouble with. Most people in any given situation know immediately if they see or experience something out of the ordinary, it does not always call for an experienced observer to relate these reports. Years ago, in Georgia, I too witnessed something extremely out of the ordinary in the sky above. On two separate occasions in fact, I was not a "trained" observer nor did I hold any special credentials regarding my professionalism that would make my report more credible than any other report during that time. But what I saw was real, very real. Actually, I was around six years old at the time of my first sighting, and around nine on my second! Even at this young age, I knew immediately what I had seen was truly a remarkable sight and something out of the ordinary. If I had reported what I had seen, especially at the ripe old age of adolescence, it would have been immediately disregarded as mundane, and the over reaction of a child's imagination, there is no doubt. What if, let's say, a respectable adult who had spent three years in the United States Army, one year of which they had spent serving their country in a war overseas, had in fact witnessed what I had seen and then reported it to local authorities? What would happen then? The adult would surely be classified as an experienced observer, wouldn't you think? They also would have been very much up to date and familiar with all kinds of terrestrial aircraft, especially what the military had during this time period. Would this type of witnesses report have made a difference and warranted an investigation? The answer is simply, no! How can I be so sure that authorities wouldn't have taken this report seriously from a well-seasoned adult who was just simply reporting what he had actually seen in the skies above over a young and gullible child's story? I can be sure because my father is the adult in reference, and he witnessed the first sighting along with me (my grand father was also present) as well as making a phone call to the local radio station regarding what we had just seen, at which time he was asked without hesitation, "How much have you had to drink tonight?" Preposterous!! We were visiting my granddad and grandmother at the time of this incident, and we were all sitting in the living room talking, watching TV, etc. and I was immediately tuned into a sound from outside, a sound I knew very well, the sound of a helicopter. As a young boy I was fascinated by airplanes and helicopters, as most adolescent males are. My dad, who had served a year in Vietnam for the United States Army, was well aware of the sounds that helicopters made as well as other aircraft. What caught my dads attention right away was the fact that we continued to hear the thumping sounds made by the rotors of a helicopter, me being a child; I didn't pay any attention to the fact that the helicopter sound never faded off in the distance like it normally would if one had just randomly passed over the house. All I knew was that I heard a helicopter and was anxious to go and see. Not thinking much of it, my dad and granddad took me outside to see the helicopter because I was becoming more and more anxious to go out and look. As we went out to look we made our way into the front yard for better viewing. The sky was cloudless and the view was unlimited, many stars could be seen as well against the night sky. Upon first glance I noticed there not to be one, but many helicopters flying around in sort of a circular flight pattern. I know my father and grandfather as well had noticed this unusual scenario. We could see the lights and the outline of the helicopters easily against the night sky, and the darkness of the sky was illuminated to an extent due to the lights from the nearby center of town. No markings of any kind were visible on the aircraft, simply due to the lighting outside. It seemed very odd to me at the time, or I guess you could say I was very much at a surprise and extremely excited to see not just one helicopter, but five. The next thing I remember is nearly simultaneously hearing my granddad ask, "What in the world is that?" and me seeing what my dad had also just caught a glimpse of. There was, a light, it was about as large as a Baseball held at arms length, and it was moving very slowly and totally silent. The light would at times, flicker almost like we see stars do at night, but this was very different. This object immediately grabbed all of our attentions. The round ball of light would flicker and pulsate like a strobe light would, and at times it would completely disappear right in front of our eyes only to reappear in another section of the sky. This especially amazed me as it would any already very excited and curious child of six years. The object would constantly change color from a blue to a white, and it would hover in one place, move at a snails pace and then "jump" from one section of the sky to another all the while, these helicopters were trying their best to keep pace with it. The object was playing a game of "cat and mouse" it seemed with these helicopters, it was defiantly responding and interacting intelligently with every move or maneuver that each helicopter made or attempted! We had watched in amazement for about ten minutes, as the object continued to "toy" with the obvious mismatched and ill equipped helicopters. Today, I can liken this match up to what would be expected from a blimp trying to keep pace with, and to out maneuver a Stealth fighter. The technology and ability of that object was that incredible. As we were continuing our jaw dropping aerial encounter, the object performed another maneuver that was just as incredible as all of the rest. The object, silently moving along from east to west, with the helicopters trying to follow, suddenly stopped. The object sat still for about, I would say ten seconds, and as the helicopters seemed to try and circle the object, the object without sound, went from its standing position in the sky to almost an instantaneously rate of blinding speed out of sight. I have never nor has my father, to date, seen anything that could move at that rate of speed, vanish, reappear, and turn at right angles without regard to speed, again. During conversations through the years with my father this incident and our recollections of that amazing night still comes up. My grandfather, who passed away in 1979, was totally astonished by what we had seen that night. Right after the event he said, "I don't believe in anything other than what I can see, so now I have to believe in the impossible." The events surrounding that night were never reported to the public, as far as any printing or broadcasting goes. No other eyewitnesses were ever known to have come forward or had made a report either, and if they did they were probably made to feel stupid or incompetent, the same tactic that was used on my father. I have conducted a large amount of research recently into this event and have come up empty handed. This is par for the course though for sightings such as these. Credible sightings made by credible people, with credible and honest inquiries on something that has made a huge impact on the very minds of ordinary people, seem to be casually "lost" or discarded by people unknown. Somewhere though there are individuals who are very much aware of this particular incident, and they are also aware of that objects origin and its highly developed capabilities. If no one else on the ground that evening saw this event other than my father, my grandfather, and me, I know for a fact that it was observed by other individuals, the pilots of those five helicopters. What does it take for the plague of denial to be eradicated on issues and events reported such as these? There are many incidents reported today all over the world that are very much similar to the event my family and I had witnessed. People are constantly being turned away and made to feel inadequate about actual events that they have witnessed. Who gives a select few of people the right to discredit, ridicule, and ostracize other normal and trustworthy people that are simply concerned about the world and the events associated with it in which they live? The answer is simply; no one has the right to conduct such an act. The harsh truth though is that in happens, and it has happened throughout the years regarding these types of aerial phenomenon reports. I have a very hard time with closed and shallow minded people, especially when it comes to the subject of UFOs and the possibility that these objects that are reported all over the globe could in fact be intelligently controlled as well as controlled by other forms of life with in our universe. The time for the end of ridicule, closed minds, shallow treatment, and downright chastisement has come. I have in the past, had people question me and my validity regarding the witnessed incident stated above in a manner I knew was more than just healthy skepticism, a manner in which carried much sarcasm as well as premeditated denial of the facts at hand. I have not, and I certainly will not, tolerate such a disposition. I know what I saw, I know it wasn't anything from this earth or on this earth that I had ever seen or have seen, nor have I ever been acquainted with such a sight again in thirty-two years. The same goes for my father and my grandfather up until the time of his death. I am steadfast in my beliefs on the issues at hand regarding the UFO phenomenon, I am however open to new ideas and possibilities regarding the possible origin and nature of these anomalies, I mean, conducting research on any topic requires the researcher to keep a clear and open mind on the factual and possible evidence in order to get a more focused and a better grasp, or understanding, of the study at hand in which could in turn be used for a possible anecdote for the cure of the unknown portions of his/her research. For the record, I am in no way saying that it is fact that space aliens are responsible for these anomalies, that is something our research has been trying to uncover for years and I am in no position to make such a claim. Through our research and with more support rather than resistance from lay people, I feel we have a good chance though of finding the answers we seek, with or without the help or support from our government. It is fact that something is here among us on planet Earth, whether it be a flesh and blood intelligent creature, as we know of, that could produce and possibly already has produced tangible evidence to prove its existence, or something from another dimension coinciding with the spirit world that we could never have, or have the means to obtain tangible evidence of, but the unavoidable fact is, no matter what you choose to believe, we are being interacted with by some unknown, unfamiliar, force…period. Since the governments of the countries that we live under aren't complying at all, as with the United States Government, or only to a certain extent, as with other countries, regarding our continuous demands on the disclosure of all of the evidence at hand regarding the UFO phenomenon, it is my personal opinion that these elected individuals be omitted from the equation when ever possible. We have continually barked up the "government tree" for years to no avail. All we have gotten is the same continuous, useless, and more times than not, simply mundane explanations. When do we as civilized and intelligent people say enough is enough? Yes it would be very helpful indeed if we had the full compliance and support of our great nations to assist on such matters. These organizations may in fact have the "smoking gun" evidence we so desperately seek, but if they are not going to be willing to assist us in our quest for the truth, then we will certainly not be in any worse shape than we already are regarding pertinent evidence on UFOs if we just simply disregard the statements that are made on this issue by the government, and continue our research on a non political and informal approach. The information, if one looks back through all of the information released to the public regarding these issues, have been tainted and twisted. This has been done on purpose by the higher authorities to confuse and limit the amount of actual truth one may find. It is hard to separate fact from fiction after the initial story has been run through the misinformation gauntlet initiated by these officials. We as researchers and avid ufologist are wasting much time sorting through the misinformation and out right lies fed to us by the government; all the while we are losing valuable time and possible pertinent information on the actual issues at hand. If at all possible, we can rightly say that the governments under which we live will continue to try and divert our attention away from the true aspects regarding UFOs, the past proves this to hold true. The study of this phenomenon is a complex one indeed, and we certainly need to stop making it more difficult by choosing an alternate path for credible information. It frustrates me, as I'm sure it does many others that have a desire to know the truth, to be fed lies and elementary explanations. If one will just take a minute to look at some of the explanations shoved down our throats by the government in regards to very credible encounters, you should see how mundane and nauseating these explanations truly are. One of the most ridiculous explanations for an unidentified object observed in the sky that I have ever heard of is the object being confused with the planet Venus! This explanation has been used not just once, but many times regarding credible sightings of moving, yes moving, aerial objects! I am sorry, but this is unacceptable, even for a child! Yet we allow these types of explanations to go on. Simple and elementary explanations given to truly extraordinary events are not acceptable, nor are they even worthy of our acknowledgment. What went wrong with each and every individual on this planet having their own mind and the ability to be able to reason for themselves whether something has credibility or not? Humans have the God given intellect to be able to perceive, acknowledge, reason, plan, and categorize, each and every event that one encounters on a daily basis, yet we have become accustomed to allowing other people to do it for us. We, at times, seem content to have other individuals outside of our own persona, to be at the controls of our cognitive and intellectual psyches. We allow them to steer us in the way they would have us to go, and we never question our destination. We have, in some sense, become merely a tool or device controlled from a distance where we are allowed only a mere glimpse of the realities and actualities of the world in which we live. People have asked me many times, including my wife and friends, "Why are you so interested in UFOs and aliens?" I have never really put an "exact" on the reasons regarding this question. I do know however the sightings I had as a child, especially the one regarded in this writing, had most to do with my interest in the subject. It is hard to say that if I had not experienced what I had over thirty years ago, if I would be in fact so dedicated to this matter, I feel the answer is yes, I would be interested in this subject, but maybe not as dedicated. As I became older I always had the memory of that experience in the back of my mind, and I have always been infatuated and curious about possible life other than humans in our universe. As a child going through school I was always interested in Science, especially anything that related to space and our universe. So it would be safe to say, yes, that this passion I have for UFOs and the disclosure of their true origin has much to do with my experiences. I know there are also people within the UFO research and study group that have never seen anything whatsoever related to a UFO, but they are avid researches on this issue. These people I hold in very high regard throughout the ufology community for the simple reason that they understand that there is more on the "outside of the little box" that we all live than on the inside. These people welcome the chance to explore outside of what they know and see, a place many people refuse to venture, they choose to explore and study because they understand the true definition of science and that we live in a complete scientific world, and that it can bring with it many new and fascinating paradigms as well as knowledge that will continue to guide all of mankind into the future. One does not have to be of very high intellect to comprehend the basis in which all researchers on UFOs base their claims. There are many upon many things around us everyday that go unseen by us through the naked eye, but does this mean it is not happening? Hardly. One does not have to see to believe, regardless of what many say, but rather through the preponderance of the evidence provided we can have enough sufficient evidence that lays claim to such existence. The only tools we must have to look at the evidence objectively is the ability to have an open mind, and not to discard anything until we ourselves have looked at and studied the evident facts before us. I truly believe that what we are experiencing regarding so-called unidentified flying objects and what we have in turn labeled as the UFO phenomenon holds much reality in most all of its acquired information. At the time being, we need patience and much persistence in our push towards total understanding and disclosure. We also must not allow our dignity and our possible future endeavors in any forthcoming attempt to yield the truth to be controlled or maimed by individuals that want nothing but secrecy and falsified information made known to us on an issue that may have dire implications to our own personal future as well as possibly handicapping an entire race of people. |
