Black Eyed Kids: A Profile
by Barry Napier

I'll be among the first to admit that the phenomena is a far fetched and unbelievable one. But as several internet forums indicate, it has many people intrigued. Still, as is the case with many other series of unexplained events that are spread across the net, the BEKs will be nothing more than internet hearsay until there is undeniable proof.

*(Note: Any readers who believes that they have had an encounter with a BEK or similar entity, please e-mail me with a detailed account to be used for future research. Thanks.)*

Demons
If you are a Christian then demons do not look scary. In fact if you saw a demon you could at first think it was a message from God. Demons are fallen angels. Therefore they look like angels. Hollywood and other non Christian folks believe in the more evil looking features.

Also, if you are a Christian then demons are scared and hate you. They can come into your hhouse without asking. Also, demons are tasked to make you sin. Demons and the devil do a much better job when they make you think that sin is fun. Think of Mr Gant from Needful Things.

So I guess it it up to your faith.

Possibly An Eye disorder
There is an ey disorder called aniridia which could explain the unusual appearance. People with aniridia are born without irises and are very light sensitive. There are special contacts that aniridia sufferers can wear, called scleral contacts that cver the entire eye. And, yes, they do come in black. These types of contacts were first invented for use in movies. Check out Wikipedia's article on anirida for more information on the disorder.

BEKs. Recalling my memory? I think I've encountered a few.
I honestly, don't know. But I encounter a whole hell of a lot of things. There are a lot of things people in the paranormal field STILL DON'T KNOW yet. I would think that these BEKs are a secret peoples and try to go out into our world, and try to pass as normal. Maybe they do just want help and be curtious about it, who knows? I think we should just leave this be for now aye barry???

I can look like I have black eyes
This is ridiculous, I have dark brown eyes and under dim lighting I can appear to have black eyes (you can't see my pupils), and I have a light-olive skin tone like the article suggests. I wonder if these people are just seeing Asian kids, and letting their imagination overpower their reason.

links to tv
you know, if anyone has seen the show Supernatural, then this can be linked to demons. in the show, lesser demons have black eyes, and if they're particularly weak, then they need permission for entrance, etc. frankly I don't buy into the whole 'evil' aspect. if I ever see em, I'll send someone a message regarding it, then let em in. what can I say? I'm curious about myths.

If they are real and i'm not saying they are, (although I never like to rule out anything)what gets me is if they have a hypnotic power then why dont they channel a positive image rather than fear, surely that would encourage people to be more receprive to their requests.

But then on the flip side, if they are as people suggest - demons or evil spirits, it may be that although they can mimick a physical appearance the power of their evil is to strong to be masked by merely looking humanoid. the black eyes I cant explain really but perhaps it is one of the more difficult parts to replicate or the evil (if there is such a thing) overpowers the natural delicate state of the eyes and turns them as black as the intent within the demon/spirit, similar to the eye getting extremely red and bloodshot with extreme anger.

You're missing the point.
The two posters "Julie" and "Michelle" are completely missing the point. We're not talking about people with black iris that seem to blend in with their pupils. With this BEK's, the WHOLE eye is supposedly black, including the sclera.

Read carefully, peeps.

Blackeye Contact 27 years ago
If I had not seen this myself now at least 27 years ago I would have never believe it. My then six year old daughter and I encountered one at a Thrifty Drug store in California. This was a man in his twenties, to thirties, it's frankly hard to tell. He was short, 5' 8" at best. His skin was odd, no wrinkles or age, fair, he had thin lips, almond shape eyes, totally black like ink, full of movement but yet dead like a shark. He asked me a question right after I arrived at the cigar shelves, I never saw him until he spoke asking me what would I suggest? I didn't look at him immediately told him the box variety, then looked up to see this being standing there. He had a baret on his head, I don't recall seeing hair, he was square shapen, slender. He wore casual trousers, shirt, blue denim straigh line jacket. He grin when I looked at him was like he could read my mind, and I could his. He was amused by me, I felt fear like a jolt run through me. For the life of me I felt I knew him for a long time. I told my daughter not to look at him as I backed us out of the store cigar area. I got her in our car and fled from the site for home calling my mother about the encounter. Believe me it was real, not fake, not some form of contact lenses, nor a vivid imagination.. the lighting didn't create a look. The intense feeling of doom, fear, I felt he knew me well it was incredible, he was so amused with that weird look on his face. But I recall there were no lines to define his face, thin face, rounded heart shape, to a soft heart jaw line. It still gives me the creeps.

I am wondering if anyone seeing these beings has seen something unusual as a child had some form of other enounter? Or is very psychic? If there is a area where concentrated sightings? I was born in New York to a scientist father who developed solid rocket propellant whom with my mother also encountered strange sightings in S. California, mine took place in both S. California and in N. California. There might be a common link. As a younster my two other sisters and I had a most terrifying encounter with something one day while in our bedroom.. it came down at an angle a small globe of light, almost liquid golden, orange inside rotating it move across and above the road, then lawn right up into our window on the other side of our peering faces. It was as if I could communicate with it watch it go to my sisters each one had the look of frozen terror. Something I didn't know until then our parents along with a few dozen other citizens saw a most amazing sight out in the desert in San Bernadino, CA. It all came out then, they apparently, or our father signed a report with a group of other people from local law enforcement onward after viewing this saucer flying over. That would be around fifty years ago now. You can believe it or not that really doesn't matter we lived it.

not a myth not a demon
kids with completely black eyes are not anything of the supernatural or the like. They are just normal kids. They were generally born with these eyes. My health teacher's grandson had an eye like this. Even though it was only one. They are usually children because when they reach a certain age there is a surgury to fix this 'freakofnature' accident. The reason they seem to get more 'urgent' is because they're mad. Wouldnt you get frustrated if you really needed help and you couldnt get from anyone because of something you couldnt help?
