Usually when you receive a UFO sighting from a member of the public you are naturally interested unless it is a fabrication or an obvious explanation is present however its even more interesting than usual if it matches a sighting of your own and originates at a nearby location. This is the exact position I was placed in when I received a sighting report from Richard Dawson living in the city of Newcastle very close to my location here in the North East of England. I received the initial email from Mr. Dawson on August 23rd 2007 and believe me I was more than interested when I read the details about his triangle UFO encounter back in November of 2003. The reason for Richard to make contact with me was due to the fact that he had come across my report of a similar phenomenon via my website.
My first ever sighting was in November of 2003 and some of you may have seen my report on that sighting of a black triangular shaped object on my website and other websites around the internet. As you can see Richard’s sighting at a quick glance is very similar to my sighting. There are one or two difference with our reports which will become apparent as I go through all the details which were provided by Richard.
In his email Mr. Dawson remarks that he along with a friend of his got out of his friends car at his parents house in the Gosforth area of Newcastle when his friend suddenly said in an excited tone "What is that?" naturally he looked toward the area of interest and here is Richard to continue the story:
"I looked and saw the black triangle, which was at about the height of five or 6 houses, glide over our head, really smooth - and it was absolutely silent." Richard continued to describe the crafts lighting features: "Although there weren't lights at the corners as you described but a dimly glowing red circle on the bottom of the craft."
Richard was not able to provide me with an exact date due to the amount of time which has passed though he is certain it was sometime in November of 2003 at approximately 7pm or 8pm. In the second email I received from Richard on August 25 2007 he described the speed and direction the craft came from and was departing towards:
"The craft came from the south-east (from south Gosforth/Jesmond kind of direction) overhead and in a north-westerly direction (towards Broadway West) and was travelling, I would say, at about thirty to forty miles an hour. although it was almost fully advanced night (extremely dark blue sky) the craft seemed jet black against the sky. The shape was cleary discernable as was the glowing red light."
