I understand some may feel that a conference should not be like one big circus act and that is why today there is such an array of different events for one to choose from. It really becomes a mute point and turns more into a subjective individual choice which leaves room for less bickering. I look at Paranormal Conferences today like purchasing a brand of jeans. There are so many out there on the market today, that I can purchase the ones that make me feel good and will do their job. I do want to start the Sisterhood of the Traveling Paranormal Pants and just may bring my pair out next conference for an auction.
That leads me into another great topic held at most of these conferences. If you can add in an auction for great charitable causes, I am so in. What a wonderful slot to add as any opportunity one is granted to take center stage and help others in need, should be done in my book. And if the auction isn't going well, I may just have to sacrifice myself for a worthy cause but make sure there's a hunk of an actor or musician around for my selfless and honorable efforts...wink wink.
The paranormal community is a great way to break into many areas opening up one's mind and heart to the possibilities that we are not alone and to understand how small we really are compared to our vast universe and discoveries yet to be discovered. The way I see this field changing and growing, is to hopefully bring together more of an awareness to recognize each fellow man as ONE, and that no matter what your profession (s) is, being a good human being who lives their life to the fullest and helps others is an awesome way to depart earth when your time comes. And it will.
Personally for me...if a humanoid, grey, alien, half-bred etc., comes down with roses, Godiva chocolate and a $1000 Gap Gift Card, I am so there to go back with them!
The next conference that I attend, I must warn those attending to be aware that once the mic is in my hand, I just may bust out into a song and dance and REALLY scare you all! Always be well-Alexandra Holzer.
