The extra biblical Book of Enoch was popular among early Christians. It is thought to have been written around 200BC but was not translated until the 1800’s from a text found in Ethiopia in 1768 AD The Apostle Jude quotes directly from Enoch about the Second Coming of the Lord in judgment in his verses 14 and 15.
“And about these also, Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesizes saying, ‘Behold, the Lord comes with many thousands of His holy men, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.’ “(Jude 14-15).
The early Church father, Tertullian, wanted Enoch to be a part of the Bible Canon but it was decided to the contrary by the Church in Rome. It is part of the Bible of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Egypt.
The Book of Enoch speaks of his travel to the fifth heaven where Enoch also saw these same fallen angels which he called Grogori which mated with human females as described again in Genesis 6:2.
The Book of Enoch states that 200 of these Watchers descended to earth in the days of Jared (Genesis 5:18) and some were given names. The worst one of all according to Enoch was called Azazel. Just as in the Apocalypse of Abraham, Azazel is described here as having “scattered over the earth the secrets of heaven and rebelled against the “Mighty One”.
Azazel is also associated with the Jewish Day of Atonement. On that Day, the sins of the people of Israel were laid on the scapegoat and then the scapegoat was driven away to Azazel, to the wilderness (Leviticus 16:21-22)). Azazel was viewed as a demon that inhabited this region in the Judean wilderness.
Thus the naming of my image Azazel makes some sense. It was indeed a demon that rebelled against God and came to Earth disguised to many as an extraterrestrial rather than a fallen angel. The strange thing, however, is that I did not know any of this at the time.
Another extra biblical work, the Book of Jubilees, described these angels as Watchers (as did Daniel 4:13,17, 23) coming to earth to instruct the children of men and bring about justice and equity to earth. However, the story ends in the same way as before; instead of instigating justice and equity they instead lusted after the women of earth and merited the full judgment of God.
This is all too similar to many present day extraterrestrials that say that they are coming to bring world peace and harmony yet really have other agendas. It is sad how many well meaning people have been deceived by this ruse and are anxiously waiting to welcome the ETs.
The Book of Enoch, according to The Omega Conspiracy: Satan’s Last Assault on God’s Kingdom by I.D.E. Thomas, stated that these Watchers instructed people on the use of dividing of roots (medicinal from hallucinogenic), incantations, astrology, charms, enchantments, magic, and “the secrets of cosmetics”. They also assisted men with weapons of destruction.
“There arose much godlessness. They committed fornication and they went astray and became corrupt in all their ways.”
Thomas wrote that things got so bad on Earth according to the Book of Enoch that the archangels Michael, Uriel and Gabriel reported the matter to the Most High God.
