The entity at Medjugorje has also predicted the outcome of a soccer game, became offended because of visitors trampling her veil, and insisted a witness give her the blood stained handkerchief of Christ:

Sept. 4, 1981: Seer Vicka in her diary writes: "We questioned her (the Virgin) about the man who saw Jesus in the street, when he was driving in his car. He met a man who was all bloodstained - this man was Jesus - who gave him a bloodstained handkerchief, telling him (the driver) to throw it in the river. Going on his way, he met a lady - it was the Blessed Virgin Mary; she asked the driver for the bloodstained handkerchief. The man gave a handkerchief belonging to himself, but the Virgin asked for the bloodstained one. 'If he had not given it to me, it would have been the last judgment for all.' The Virgin said that that (event) was true. (report of Bishop Zanic, 1990, in whose diocese of Mostar, the apparition took place.)

Looking at the history of Marian Apparitions up to the present, (including everything from Our Lady of Guadalupe to the Bayside events) and comparing them to UFO events, we begin to see how the same phenomena is behind these events, manifested in different ways. Whatever UFOs are, we know that a large part of the phenomena appears to be contradictory and manipulative, performing tricks. We interpret this as intentional deception, and very possibly it is. The performances by entities, both alien and Marian, are secretive even while overt, which is another contradiction, or really, more of a paradox.

The question has been asked many times by some Fortean and UFO researchers, among them John Keel, Jacques Vallee, and Joaquim Fernandes and Fina d’Armada: is the force behind many (or even all) UFO/alien encounters the same as Marian and other religious apparitions?
