 There is one thing that I really get a kick from. Every year or so, you hear of some scientist or researcher "discovering" Atlantis. They dive off the coast of this place or that and find remains of some civilization. It's underwater... so it must be Atlantis! It is a common practice of man to build close to the source of water, whether rivers or coasts..... and has been since the dawn of man. I really hate to break it to all these esteemed scholars.... but they are not finding Atlantis, but only the villages and cities that existed prior to the great flood. As a side note, my bet is that if there was a place such as the fabled Atlantis.... it is under the massive ice sheet in the Antarctica..... but that's another story. Sure, Atlantis could have sunk beneath the "waves", but there is the possiblity that the "waves" rose up and covered it.
These are observations that I had before even researching this canopy theory to it's depth and width. I had never heard another soul talk about such a canopy world those many years ago.... and I thought, "Was I the only one "seeing" this?" One day I was looking through a catalog for books with strange topics and seen one listed as "Waters above the Firmament", and knew immediately that someone else had found what I had found. I was so excited that even before I received the book in the mail, I had written a letter to the author explaining my own take on the canopy theory. When I got the book and looked for the authors contact point and found a picture of him, I found that the photo was taken when he must have been in his eighties in 1906! I was dumbstruck, here was a man who had proposed the canopy theory many years before my own father’s birth.... and no one was talking about it!
His name was Isaac N. Vail (1840-1912), and he had done years of research on the canopy theory. Allow me to quote this visionary of a man who endured much ridicule from his scientific colleagues.....
"It is therefore evident that the firmament was the atmosphere and that it was so applied by the ancient Hebrews. There is no word in the Hebrew language designating the atmosphere from the rest of the expanse above, whence it is evident that the Hebrews knew of no such distinction. The firmament they considered to be an expanse about earth, and beyond it was a great fund of waters: and the expression "waters above the firmament" means the waters above the atmosphere."
"But where are the waters above the atmosphere? And how could the atmosphere of firmament cause a separation of waters? How are we to understand that a mere expanse, or a body of air, could become a partition between two bodies of water, one situated above and the other below it. It is needless to say that this subject, like that of the deluge, is a most perplexing and difficult one to reconcile with scientific law. Nor have the various theories that have been proposed, been sufficient to fierce animosities and disputes between the theologian on one hand, and the scientist on the other."
"The latter declares in favor of nature as it is, and the former declares in favor of the miraculous suspensions of natures operations, in order to explain phenomena alluded to in the Bible. As these individuals are traveling in opposite directions in their search for the truth, permit me to take a middle course."

That last sentence is one I find that hits home to me.... As these individuals (secular scientists, and theologians) are traveling in opposite directions in their search for the truth, permit me to take a middle course... no truer words can be spoken by those that are truly in search of our past.
