Does space odor cling to space suits? |
The space in which all galaxies, solar systems, and physical particles are suspended in is said to be nothing more than an open area known as the universe. However, with reports from astronauts saying it has a distinct odor as witnessed in the airlock hatch after returning from being in space and on the space suits themselves. It would seem that space itself is not a great vacuum but something consisting of matter.
The consensus of the smell itself leans to that of burning almonds with a metallic odor similar to that from arc welding.
We cannot detect the odor here on Earth because of the atmosphere.
It would be interesting to compare samples of space from well outside the solar system to those we now experience. If the samples from deep space do not have the odor, it would be fair in assuming that it comes from the sun and since the odor resembles that of combustion the sun's process of nuclear fusion sends out the odor as a byproduct from the matter used in its process.
If deep space also has the odor, it would suggest that space itself is a medium of which all known physical particles, large and minute are suspended similar to an aquarium where water suspends fish and particles from waste. With this in mind, space would have to be part of something much larger, which houses the medium.
As we know, all in the known universe has a surrounding medium from which it bases its existence. Cells in flesh live within their surrounding medium and the process goes on into the subatomic level and beyond.
With much larger objects such as solar systems and galaxies, the process of particle suspension assuredly must continue on to a mind blowing grand scale well beyond our imagination. This line of thinking brings us to the possibility that multi universes such as the bubble theory suggests mean these uncountable universes are part of a larger mass, which encompasses them. This is similar to a cell existing among millions of cells being part of a larger encompassing body of tissue mass.
