ANNA was a geodetic research satellite with the primary missions of measuring
the strength and direction of the Earth’s gravitational field, locating the
centre of the Earth’s mass and marking off locations on the Earth.
Let’s examine the strange behavior of the geodetic satellite ANNA and the
communications satellite TELSTAR II. ANNA, which was put in orbit in October 1962, was equipped with four powerful flashing lights with were employed to photograph stars and to calculate the
exact dimensions and shape of the Earth.
After it had fullfilled its task, ANNA, which was also called Firefly, ceased
functioning. Convinced that it was at the end of its time, the Air Force lost
interest and its technicians went on to other projects.

The first television picture relayed from earth to space and back occurred on July 10, 1962. The transmission, which showed the American flag waving in front of the Earth Station in Andover, Maine, was made possible when NASA launched AT&T's Telstar, the world's first active communications satellite, at four thirty-five that morning.

On August 1963, however, after seven months of silence, Firefly suddenly
starting functioning again and the astonished Air Force technicians began their
observations again.
The first television picture relayed from earth to space and back occurred on
July 10, 1962. The transmission, which showed the American flag waving in
front of the Earth Station in Andover, Maine, was made possible when NASA
launched AT&T’s Telstar, the world’s first active communications satellite, at four
thirty-five that morning.
Then there was TELSTAR II. This satellite was launched with great fanfare on
May 7, 1963, and it functioned perfectly until July 16, 1963, the date on
which it abruptly fell silent until August 12, when it suddenly came to life again.
Confusion among scientists was understandable. The two satellites had
functioned perfectly and had not showed any sign of failure before mysteriously
breaking down; then, after remaining silent for weeks or months, both began
functioning again within three days of each other, also for reasons unknown.
The manufacturer of Firefly, Richard Kerschmeroff, of Johns Hopkins
University, stated to journalists, “It is incredible! We have no explanation for how
these lights could recover function.”
The manufacturer of TELSTAR II, Doren Mitchell, of Bell laboratories, stated,
“We do not have any information on the cause of the breakdown, but it could
have been a meteorite.”
This statement leaves two questions unanswered. Firstly, if these satellites
were damaged by meteorites, how was the damage repaired? Secondly, and it is a
question which officials refused to discuss: Did something or somebody
examine the satellites while they were broken down?
“In 1964, four of our satellites mysteriously ceased functioning, then
without apparent reason came back online ...” (From “Flying Saucers, Serious
Business,” by Franck Edwards, ed. Robert Laffont, October 1969, pages 190 -191.)
And here, from the “International Herald Journal” of 06/01/1976, also
published in “Ufologia” no. 5 (1976), p.21: ” Mystery in Cosmos… . The ‘great
galactic vampire’ has just struck again, destroying one of the instruments that
the uninhabited probe Viking would have used to search for possible signs of
life on the planet Mars. The probe lost one of its three ground-sampling sensors,
which became non-functional when the vessel reached the zone christened ‘the
cave of the great galactic vampire.’ ‘It is strange. The “vampire” always
seems to know when we arrive in his sector,’ joked John Casani of the Jet
Propulsion Laboratory in California where they have been aware of this special place
since 1969, after the explosion of one of the batteries of Mariner 7. On the w
hole, seven probes have been the victims of damage in the zone of the ‘great
vampire.’ Both American and Soviet probes have been attacked indiscriminately!
Specialists are astonished by these continuing coincidences in an area which
is practically free of cosmic dust.”
Additional information drawn from the review, “Mysteries,” from December,
1994, no. 17, page 64: (“it” refers to NASA): “Mars Observer, the probe that it
had launched in September 1992, had the mission, among other things, to again
photograph the surface, this time with instruments offering a resolution
fifty times higher than those which Viking 1 had carried sixteen years earlier.”
We know what happened to the Mars Observer. On August 24, 1993, nearly one
year after its launch, the probe suddenly ceased transmitting as it approached
the outer reaches of Mars. Four years earlier, two Soviet Phobos probes had
suffered the same fate. Coincidence? Hoagland does not believe it. For him, there
are secrets on the red planet such that, for one reason or another, “someone
... prevents us from approaching.”
The newspaper, “France-Evening,” of Monday, July 26, 1976, morning edition,
printed information about Viking 1, the American probe sent to explore the
planet Mars. It reported the mysterious breakdown and re-starting of the radio
transmitter aboard Viking 1.
“Ufologia” no. 6 (1976), page 22, also reported the resumption of
transmissions from Viking 1.
From AP/DPA, July 26, 1976: “Letters and a Number on the Planet Mars. Pasadena: The mysterious character
of the planet Mars is confirmed today… Indeed, the US probe Viking 1
transmitted the image of a Martian rock on which were discerned the letters B, G, and
the number 2.” Of course, the experts at Pasadena did not ascribe these images
to intelligent Martian creatures. “The human eye is accustomed to seeing
certain things and it always tends to interpret what is new in a familiar
context…” (Note D.C.R./Ufologia).
In addition, “The American technicians were perhaps not forthright in
releasing images only in black and white instead of color transmissions! Also, the
images seemed taken through a filter …”
In connection with those mysterious inscriptions - the number 2 and the
letters B and G (or perhaps G or 8) – this appeared in the newspaper, “Humanity,”
Monday July 26, 1976: “And that would they have meant? That gravity on Mars is
equal to terrestrial gravity - G - divided by 2.8? That would be roughly
true…”
Now here is information concerning the second American probe Viking 2, which
appeared in the newspaper “Le Monde” on Thursday, August 19, 1976: “After the discovery of strange stripes, the landing site of Viking 2 on Mars
was changed … The photographs taken by Viking 2 showed the presence of very
many craters, but also a series of mysterious stripes which geologists could
not identify. The striped zones resembled a field which had just been plowed,
and the regularity of the furrows is at the moment unexplained. Those in charge
of the mission decided to change the landing site…”
And let us not forget the strange face photographed on the planet Mars nor
the mysterious pyramids of the site of Cydonia Mensae!!!
Similar to the mysterious breakdown and re-starting of the radio transmitter
of Viking 1 (see “France-Evening” of Monday July 26, 1976), an identical p
henomenon occurred on the Moon during this same year ... 1976!!!
From the “New Republic” of March 5, 1976, reprinted by “Ufologia” no. 5
(1976), p.21: [Note by Christian Macé: This refers to the Apollo 14 mission. Crew: Shepard,
Roosa and Mitchell. Mission of January 31 to February 9, 1971. Site: the
Ocean of Storms, close to crater FRA-Mauro. Shepard and Mitchell placed there an
ALSEP, an automatic scientific station with a nuclear generator of 63 W, which
converts the heat released by plutonium 238 into electricity.]
