Stephen Yulish was always interested in UFOs and was a member of NICAP and APRO in the 1960s after reading Project Bluebook. He studied astronomy and exobiology at Case Western Reserve University and graduated in 1969. He eventually became a History Professor at The University of Arizona for seven years where he visited Allen Hyneck's Tucson group. Forever Grateful: The Rest of the Story by Stephen Yulish PhD

I know that I need not wallow in the mud of my past and that Christ has forgiven me of all these transgressions and remembers them not but let me wallow a minute to show you the ultimate grace and forgiveness of our Lord. In my earlier article, Forever Grateful ( www.ufodigest.com), I showed you how “I did not choose God but that He chose me” (John 15:6) but that is too simplistic. Here is the rest of the story. The ultimate miracle gets even better.
As a young teenager, I was interested in unusual, mystical things like UFOs, cosmic consciousness, Atlantis, life on other planets, and psychics like Edward Cayce and Nostradamus, I would much rather read of ancient civilizations than our nation’s history. I was searching for truth and meaning in all the wrong places.
“Always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Timothy 3:7).
In college, I studied astronomy, exobiology and eventually graduated with a degree in Human evolution. Again, I was searching everywhere for meaning but did not find it. I studied Sagan and Gould and Leakey but did not find what I was looking for.
I taught elementary school in the inner city to avoid Vietnam and was a community organizer of sorts. I was a typical Jewish Democrat Liberal do-gooder. When I later went to grad school at the University of Illinois (Bill Ayers, Barack Obama) I studied under a Freudian Marxist for four years. I went to radical Saul Slinky rallies, I was taught (ala Rev Wright) that America was a racist, sexist, class based society.
When I taught at the University of Arizona, I instilled these twisted revisionist ideas into my students along with a toxic dose of New Age philosophy. I taught a grad class entitled “Alternate conceptions of Reality”. My students got a two pronged dose of Marxism and demonic philosophy. See what I mean?
I had a personal psychic and an astrologer. I meditated, had life readings and contemplated my navel. I read Kabbalah and was running from God as fast as I could unless I could become Him through Gnostic practices.
I voted for McGovern in 1972 and probably would have voted for Obama last year but God had other plans and I am forever grateful to Him for choosing me. I not only found the truth that I had sought so desperately but I am now a conservative. My sons have painfully seen me change from a mystical Jewish liberal Democrat to a God fearing conservative. I am definitely a new man in Christ.
