We, as UFO investigators, should and must eliminate any and all possibilities of what the object could be.
I do not care if one is J Allen Hynek or Nick Pope, all human beings are fallible. Like I was told, many years ago by Ray Fowler, investigate; investigate until you eliminate every possible clue to what it could be in any kind of weather. That is what separates the great investigators from the so, so ones.
A great investigator MUST be persistent in his quest for the truth. If you have a doubt, do not be satisfied. Eliminate every possible clue to what it could be - then go over everything again.
Another thought is this: no one is perfect. Every one can and will make mistakes, I did. When you do make mistakes Learn from them. Last night brought me back to earth, excuse the pun, and taught me not to assume anything. For if you do you will leave open cracks that other people will find and maybe add the fuel to the fire of doubt into the UfO enigma and your credence in the world of the paranormal and UFO investigator field. I personally was humbled. It taught me, though, that I still am human and fallible. It also taught me to question everything from every angle.
If I do not I will not be doing my job right, will I?
