In the latter half of the nineties I lived on the mesa outside of Taos NM. Saucers, lights, black helicopters, strange creatures and disappearing Cadillac’s are all part of the normal way of life for everyone who lives down there.
The weather is a lot more interesting conversation than talking about unusual occurrences on the mesa. Life revolves around the weather on the mesa.
There are Anasazi ruins behind our home. Their spirits play their drums and sing on a lot of summer nites. Everyone in the neighborhood hears them. It is a very pleasant evening entertainment. Not many communities have Native American spirit bands for evening entertainment.
One summer evening my son and I watched a huge saucer being chased by several jet fighters about half a mile up and a mile away from where we were. The reddish saucer was just cruising along as if nothing was chasing her. The jets were screaming their hearts out they were pushing so hard to try and keep up with her.
Twice I have seen three orange lights. The first time it was evening. I was in bed and I had the strongest feeling to get up and look out the window. I did. About three miles away directly to the south there were three extremely bright orange lights the size of large stars. They were all lined up in a very straight row along the horizon. They could have been set on a ruler the line was so straight.
I had the very strongest mental message warning me to stop what I was working on.
For added emphasis the orange light on the right very slowly moved horizontally for about half a mile.
I was tickled. I must be onto something right if they were threatening me. I had the hugest grin. I went back to bed feeling very happy. I did not bother to wait for them to leave. It was a way of insulting them.
A few days later in the afternoon directly to the east I saw the same brilliant orange lights in a horizontal line below the mountain line about fourteen miles away.
Again it was the same mental message. Stop what I was working on or else. I had the same reaction. I was gleeful to find out I was on the right track.
Again the orange light on the right moved in a straight horizontal line to the right for about half a mile.
I continued my walk feeling very pleased with myself. I ignored them the rest of my delightful walk.
One night we watched a saucer slowly flying from east to west to the north of us. It must have been about four miles from us. It was about the size of a dime.
I had developed a very decided attitude towards saucers. I flipped it off. There was no way for it to see what I did.
It immediately stopped and turned a huge white light on us. It was not happy with me. I stood there grinning at it. After a couple of minutes it turned the light off and proceeded on its slow flight to the west.
In approximately 1995 my nearest neighbor had an unusual occurrence that shook her up. She is used to seeing the usual unusual things that everyone takes for granted they are so common.
This one rattled her which is not easy to do. A tough old broad is the best way to describe her.

She had been in one of the lots behind the store when she saw a huge inverted vortex form in the sky above her. She thought she was going to be sucked into it. It was huge. Radiating out from the inverted vortex were ripples of light that looked like ripples of water that spread all across the sky.
Flying around this were several saucers. She had the distinct impression the saucers were using the inverted vortex for something.
She watched it for several minutes.
After all these years I do not remember all the details. I never wrote it down. I was very dismayed at the time since if I had been outdoors at the time I could have seen it too.
It took a while for me to calm her down.
Since it had just happened everything was fresh in her memory. I rather doubt if she ever was able to remove that image from her memory.
It never occurred to me at the time to ask anyone else if they had seen anything. There were no people around to ask. It was a very quiet afternoon.
My son and I went home hopefully watching the sky for another inverted vortex to form. We were very disappointed.
Imagine my surprise when a couple of months ago I chanced to talk to a man who had an almost identical experience approximately in 1995 in July at about ten at night.
If humans had ears that could stand straight up like a dogs ears mine would have.
The man told me about an experience his cousin, brother and himself had in July 1995 at about ten in the evening. It had shaken them up. He said it felt like something of biblical proportions.
His family is very close and on a lot of summer evening the entire family would have dinner at his grandparents. This particular evening the family had gathered for one of their dinners.
One of their favorite pastimes was star watching.To avoid the lights of the house the young man, his brother and cousin walked about a quarter mile down the country lane to where there was a side road.
There were no trees or building close to them and an open pasture for over a mile and a half in front of them. I did a google search of the area.
The side road ran north to south through a pasture. About a mile and a quarter down the side road the hills started up. The side road then ran along the front of the hills for about a mile before it turned up into the hills.
The young man saw a brilliant whitish blue flash of light about 35 degrees above the horizon. He immediately shouted to the others to look at it.
A few seconds later a ripple of brilliant bluish white light spread out from where the light flash had been.
This happened several times over the course of at least two to three minutes. They had an excellent view of the strobe like light and the ripples of light that spread out from the light.
The ripples of light looked like ripples of water as they spread across the rest of the sky.
This alone amazed the young people. To make it more amazing for them was the speck of a brilliant red light that appeared near where they had seen the brilliant flashing light.
As they watched the red speck it grew in size apparently moving towards them in a downward angle at a very rapid rate of speed. It was traveling from the south to the north in a straight line towards them.
When it was above the hills a mile and a half in front of them it showered the trees with a brilliant red light. It was about the size of a penny held at arms length.
They were positive it was a solid object and not a light. The red object had a very distinct circular outline.
They watched the red object hover above the trees in front of them for about ten minutes before they looked away and when they looked back it was gone.
It left an indelible memory.
The man grew up on a navy base and has seen a lot of aircraft. He had never seen anything that looked like the red object or anything that moved that fast. His dad was in the navy for thirty years.
I have called NASA, NORAD, and an astronomical observatory trying to find out what they saw.
It is so unusual I want to know what caused it. I wish I could have seen it.
