Thomas J. Carey, who co-authored “Witness to Roswell” with fellow Roswell investigator Donald R. Schmitt, said this week he doesn’t believe the government will ever come clean about UFOs.

“There will never be any disclosure by the U.S. that UFOs represent extraterrestrial spacecraft,” Carey said in a prepared statement. “One of the reasons for this is that our government does not want to answer any questions about its illegal and thuggish conduct in suppressing the Roswell incident – threatening to kill civilians, including children if they talked about it – back in 1947.”

Dolan said there might be something to the notion that the faction of government in the know about UFOs may be behind an effort to gradually educate the public of the extraterrestrial reality. Regardless, disclosure – whether it occurs because somebody in the government wants it to occur or an extraterrestrial event unfolds that would make a continued cover-up impossible – is going to happen at some point, he said.

“My hunch is it’s going to be a big shock,” Dolan said, adding that politicians and officials might feel the brunt of the shock because they’ll have a lot of explaining to do.

And the more time that passes, the harder it becomes for the government to disclose the facts about UFOs, he said. “If you keep a secret … long enough, it’s like any secret: The longer it goes, the harder it’s going to be to let it out,” Dolan said.
