My Take On The 12th Planet by Zecharia Sitchin

When reading the Old Testament there is parts where I find the information provided is quite interesting but the interpretation of it can lead down any number of paths. Zecharia Sitchin’s book The 12th Planet was originally published in the late 70’s so without a doubt a lot of other data would have come up since then. But the knowledge in the book has been around for thousands of years.

Dynasties and empires have come and gone. Us humans have seen numerous ups and downs, peaks and valleys over its history. Around 4000 BC the Sumerians Empire came into existence and over the course of its history became the most advanced civilization before any other. The Sumerians made terrific progress in the fields of astronomy, medicine, written word and developing a legal code. It’s been said that parts of the Old Testament were plagiarized from the Sumerian tablets.

Genesis 1:26 in part says “Let us make man in Our image, according to our likeness…” I’ve asked several people on what this means but all I got was a shrug of the shoulders and a confused look on their face. I really can’t say for sure but it sounds as if there is a number of Gods involved here. Just what we need, a tribunal or committee of Gods. Also it’s been said that God is a spirit but from the Biblical verse here it sounds as if there is some kind of physical form that was drawn from for these to go by.

In Chapter 5 of the 12th Planet, Sitchin referred to the Nelfilm as the people of the fiery rockets. It would be amazing for people of that time to see vehicles descending and rising from Earth considering they may not have known what air travel was all about. Two similar stories from the Old Testament have Elijah going “up into Heaven by a whirlwind” and Enoch taken by God heavenward to escape mortality on Earth. It would be interesting to find out exactly what happened, whether Elijah and Enoch were pulled up into a spacecraft or entered another dimension.

According to Sitchin the Sumerians had figured out a highly advanced celestial map. It showed our Moon “as a proper celestial body” and accounted for all the known planets except for Pluto. It was also brought up that the asteroid belt was once a planet that had exploded for unknown reasons. How did the Sumerians figure all this out? Did they do it themselves or did they get the information from visiting ET’s?

It remains to be seen if we have been visited by other planetary life forms. With the number of galaxies similar to the Milky Way beyond count, any number of planets or suns exist that are much the same as ours. With an “astronomical amount of planets providing every imaginable combination of temperature, atmosphere and chemicals offering billions of chances for life” as Sitchin wrote.

Unfortunately I don’t know of a way of time travelling back throughout history to see if any of the information Sitchin wrote is true. Like all historical documentation, who knows how much of it has been changed whether it’s been verbal or written. So in whose image was man made? Who really knows but somewhere at sometime there must be accurate records that say exactly what happened.
