WHERE’S WALDO? – PART II

In his companion essay, Emerson’s Self-Reliance Properly Understood, Jack Turner wrote, “Conformity is the failure to question prevailing political, social, and economic arrangements because we fear social ostracism.

Social ostracism is without question, one of the most potent weapons of the conspiracy. And if you understand how it works, you can begin to grasp why the truth doesn’t always win out.

Back in 2005, the former head of the KGB (the secret police of the former Soviet Union), General Yevgeni Primakov, was hired as a consultant by the US Department of Homeland Security.

How’s this for irony? America wins the Cold War and then hires former KGB agents to spy on Americans.

According to legend, after several months on the job, a very impressed Primakov approached his new paymasters and reportedly said, something like, “You’re country is genius. In old Soviet Union we lock up our dissidents in big Gulags in Siberia. You don’t need Gulag, here. You get the media to make dissidents look foolish. Soon, everyone, even their friends and family stop listening to them.”

Of course, there are numerous methods of imposing conformity. Perhaps the most effective is something called the fur-lined trap. As its name implies, a fur-lined trap looks enticing (with soft fur) but it will ultimately result in capture or death.

If you’ve ever wondered why newspaper reporters don’t write serious articles about credible mass sightings of unidentified flying objects, or why a White House Press reporter never asked the president why we can’t see the DNA evidence proving Osama bin Laden is dead, it’s because of the fur-lined trap.

Journalists are generally well-intended citizens. They want to inform the public and keep elected officials honest. But, they’re just like the rest of us, too. They want to live comfortably. The have car payments and a mortgage. Their children need braces and the latest iPhone. “Snap!” They’re trapped. We’re all trapped.

Are you willing to give up your house and risk your daughter’s college fund to “pursue the truth?”

A reporter doesn’t have to be told by his editor not to cover something. They know where the line is. They know which side their bread is buttered on.

It is for this reason that most our esteemed institutions discourage rigorous questioning of prevailing political, economic, scientific, and religious arrangements.

Foster Gamble is a writer and producer, known for Thrive (2011), Take Back Your Power (2013) and The Reality of Truth. He described how state secrets and conspiracies are justified by those who perpetrate them as well as those who are coopted into protecting the lie.

“It starts with the notion of the “noble lie.” This term was coined by Leo Strauss, who was the philosophical grandfather of the Neo-conservative movement and who advocated state political propaganda and covert actions to protect a society’s traditional beliefs from “unrestrained inquiries” — or in other words — “conspiratorial theorizing.” He believed that scientific criticism of official accounts of important historical events, even when those criticisms were true, “undermined respect for the nation’s laws and traditional beliefs.” “Weapons of Mass Destruction” and “regime change” are examples of “noble lies” — untruths put forth to achieve an end goal that could not be achieved without manufactured evidence to sway public opinion.”

Emerson’s exhortations to search for the universal truth that lies within and to “trust thyself,” were pretty powerful memes in 1841. But in 2014, Emerson’s philosophy is, in some quarters, dismissed as trite. I suppose this is to be expected when you’ve been endlessly quoted in just about every pop psychology book on the market.

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” I actually spied this one embroidered on a throw pillow at my wife’s hair salon (sigh).

After recent revelations by Edward Snowden about illegal surveillance by the NSA, as well as testimony from other whistleblowers regarding political and corporate corruption that seems to know no bounds, I would argue it is time to reconsider Emerson and Self-Reliance with fresh eyes and ears.

It is in this spirit that I invite you, once again, to join me on Sunday November 16, 2014 at my all-day conference, Follow the Truth: The Conspiracy Show Summit. This is your opportunity to fight back against the “noble lie.” This is where we all get to stand up and question the prevailing political, economic, scientific, religious and social order. We have nothing to lose but our fur-lined traps.

The information being presented at this conference is very important, and I’m encouraging you to join the cause. In fact, I have a very special mission for you. Contact 50 friends, colleagues, and family members by email and let them know about Follow The Truth: The Conspiracy Show Summit and I will reward your efforts with one FREE PASS to my conference. That’s a $100 value. It’s impossible to place a value on the quality of information you’re going to be exposed to during this unique event.

Just send the people on your email list a short note telling them why you’ll be attending the conference and why you think they should be there, too.

Make sure you include the link to FollowtheTruth.tv so they will have access to all the information about the summit. All you need to do is ‘cc me in the email that you send out to 50 people. Once I receive that email, I’ll put you on the VIP list for the conference and then I’ll see you in Oshawa on November 16th.

I know Waldo will be there in spirit. If you listen carefully, you might even hear him whisper, “Whoso be a man must be a nonconformist.”

Hey, let’s slap that on a license plate.

Sincerely,
Richard Syrett

So be not afraid.  There is nothing concealed that won’t be revealed.  Nothing hidden that won’t be made known. What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light.  What you hear in a whisper, proclaim from the housetops. – Matthew 10:26
