Missouri UFO emits beam as ‘five smaller lights eject out bottom’

A Missouri witness driving southbound on Highway 169 reports a “large UFO” that looked “like a huge falling star or fireball” that stopped and hovered, “emitted a beam underneath and five smaller lights ejected out the bottom” as they moved east on August 19, 2011, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

“Then they began to circle around the larger UFO in a circle formation while heading downward towards Earth in an eastern direction,” the witness stated.

Two Missouri UFO reports describe multiple lights in the sky.

In a possibly unrelated MUFON report also on August 19, 2011, a Missouri witness driving along Old Highway 94 reports watching four “yellow-orange” lights that did not pulse or flash.

“The reason I recorded, or tried to, was because I could not see any shape and they all moved freely from each other,” the witness stated. “I followed them for a minute (approximately) and pulled over at the street near the post office. By the time I pulled over it appeared that they went straight up (not abruptly) and disappeared. I then went to the KFC parking lot and called a couple of friends and reviewed my video. It’s a really bad video!”

The video submitted with this report can be found here.

No town names were mentioned in either case in the public portions of the MUFON reports, both of which were filed on August 19, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Missouri is a current UFO ALERT 4 rating, with a higher than average number of UFO sightings nationally. Missouri had 18 reports in July 2011 – while California had 54 UFO reports – the highest reporting state in the nation.

The following are the unedited reports filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Missouri MUFON State Director Debbie Ziegelmeyer investigates and reports back on these cases, I will publish case updates. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com.
