Huge Acre Size UFO Over Archer, Florida!

An Archer, FL, witness estimates one of two anomalous lights might have been as large as an acre of land after watching two lights appear and then shoot up into the atmosphere at 9:30 p.m. on April 18, 2011, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was outside smoking when the first light appeared “while looking southwest about 40 to 45 degrees up.”

“I noticed a bright neon blue light appear in the night sky,” the witness stated. “A moment later it traveled at a high rate of speed straight up until it faded out within 5 seconds.”

Then 5 seconds later a second light appeared in the same location, but smaller in size.

“It followed the same direction as the previous blue light at the same speed and faded out after about 5-7 seconds just as the blue light did.”

The witness speculated on the size of the objects.

“There is not a single cloud in the sky for a light to disappear into so they must have left visible range out of Earth’s atmosphere or simply turned off whatever was illuminating them. If they were in fact leaving Earth’s atmosphere at that speed, the blue light must have been as large as an acre and the smaller one half an acre.”

Archer is a city in Alachua County, north-central Florida, population 1,302.

  1. In 1987 or 1988, around 2-3 AM, my husband and I were driving home late from Tarpon Springs, FL, to be back on campus at UF. We had taken US19 North and turned off East at the Otter Creek light. The roads were dark and there was zero traffic. When we came close to the town of Archer, there was and still is a huge cow pasture to the left of the road. After going over two gentle hill slopes, we saw an immense (at least the size of a football field) glowing green flying saucer with bright green lights radiating to the ground. It was not up very high and was clearly visible. It very slowly and silently landed behind many, many huge trees—that’s how big it was. My husband turned our car lights off, did a U-turn and flew back over the hills that were behind us. I had a Polaroid camera on the floor by my feet and could easily have caught the image, but I didn’t want to take a picture and draw attention from such a large aircraft. This gigantic saucer looked to be landing near the town area, but there was no mention of it in the paper or the news the next day. My husband didn’t like to talk about it. End of story.
