Strange Colorful Spheres and Orbs Reported to MUFON

Intelligently controlled spheres and orbs are common reports from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database, and the latest reports from March 10, 2011, are typical of what is being seen across the country this winter season.

Two California witnesses filed reports two days in a row – for red-orange lights in the night sky on March 8 and March 9 in MUFON Case # 28187 and MUFON Case # 28188.

“We look up after last night’s sighting and see a reddish orange light moving across sky – too slow to be a plane or satellite – in the southern view of the sky,” the reporting witness stated. “It came from the west above the ocean and headed east.”

Then a report from Golden, Valley, AZ, MUFON Case # 28184, about a sighting of a “yellow to amber” orb on March 9, 2011. The object traveled silently below the normal flight path of an airplane and dimmed to a “dull grey” color.

“Notably about these objects is ‘how’ they move,” the reporting witness stated. “If you watch very carefully you will notice their movement is not in a straight path but in a jittery, wobbly type of motion. It is not extremely noticeable but you can see it.”

The witness in this case submitted three images – Photo # 1, Photo # 2, and Photo # 3.

A Georgia witness reports an oval or sphere-shaped object hovering nearby on March 9, 2011, in MUFON Case # 28183. Apparently, this is not the first time this witness has seen these objects.

“I observed a shining oval/sphere shaped object hovering above some trees for about 20 seconds, then it disappeared,” the witness stated. “It seemed very close. This has been happening here for several months now, but this is the first time I have reported it. My brother has observed this with me before. I have no photos but will be on the ready from now on. This is getting interesting.”

A California couple report observing three star-like objects over a 15-minute period on March 9, 2011, in MUFON Case # 28182. One of those objects was an orange light.

“Then, about three minutes after that, we noticed an orange light traveling in the western sky, from north to south,” the reporting witness stated. “This object seemed to be at a much lower altitude compared to the other two objects. This object traveled in a generally strait direction but it did appear to slightly change direction at times. It also changed speed, sometimes slowing down, then speeding back up. We watched it for about 40 seconds, until it disappeared, possibly behind some clouds.”

Older reports are also filed daily at MUFON.

An Arizona witness reported today on a December 31, 2010, sighting of a “bright red ball of light” that was dropping smaller balls of light in MUFON Case # 28186.

“There was no sound whatsoever, it dropped at least 2 or 3 balls of light,” the witness stated. “They would fade out before they hit the ground. I ran inside to get my cousin to see it. We both rushed out to see if it was still there. It was. We observed it for about another 10 to 15 seconds before it got very bright and then it shot out sparks all over the place almost like a sparkler firework but out didn’t make any sound. It was New Years, yes, but fireworks make some kind of noise, but this thing didn’t make any noise at all. After that it disappeared and I lost sight of it, it was an unexpected experience. I mean it completely vanished.”

A group of family members in Pennsylvania outside grilling on September 18, 2010, watched an orange orb in the sky in MUFON Case # 28185. The group seemed to think that the object wanted to be seen.

“When we first saw the object we all began to wonder at what it might be,” the reporting witness stated. “We immediately knew that it was not any type of normal aircraft as we all have served in the military and are very familiar with aircraft and air travel. As we paid close attention to the orb, it seemed to understand that we were interested in it and that it was noticed by us. At this point it begin to descend upon us and its shape began to be more recognizable.”

Quotes from the sited reports above were edited for clarity. They are as yet uninvestigated reports filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If MUFON investigates and reports back on any of these cases, I will release an update. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com.
