CBS News and other media outlets are reporting a missile launch about 35 miles off the coast of Los Angeles just north of Catalina Island on November 8, 2010, that no one - so far - in the U.S. military is taking responsibility for.
The object moved across the afternoon sky yesterday about 5 p.m. local time. A KCBS News helicopter was in the area at the time and took video footage of it. Early reporting is that both the Navy and the Pentagon do not know about the launch.
The video on this page is just one of the many pieces of news coverage out there now.
