‘Paths to Contact: True Stories from the Contact Underground’

On Friday, May 10, 2013, computer scientist Jeff Becker revealed esoteric dimensions of his personal contact with ETs in an exclusive interview broadcast live over YouTube. The editor of “Paths to Contact: True Stories from the Contact Underground” spoke from his home near Bloomington, Indiana of a life journey in which his world view was turned upside down by what he describes as undeniable telepathic interactions with lights in the sky.

“Paths to Contact” offers a look into the early 21st century world of UFO and ET contact through a compilation of autobiographical sketches written by ordinary people (who just happen to be having extraordinary experiences).

Contributing writers were encouraged to discuss their Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind in terms of “how they were motivated to make contact, how they learned to do it, some of their more amazing experiences, and how all of this has affected them.”

During Friday night’s broadcast, the U.S. Navy veteran and former naval nuclear power plant operations instructor qualified his on-air remarks, stating how “When I say that I’ve experienced telepathic contact, I’m not making that statement lightly.”

Computational Process

Jeff Becker has been a student of science most of his life. “I’ve studied artificial intelligence. My Master’s degree thesis was in artificial intelligence and machine learning. I view intelligence as a computational process.”

He theorizes about the nature of consciousness from a careful and reasoned perspective, offering how “It’s not inconceivable that the brain can calculate what we perceive as mind.”

With a career in applied physical sciences that includes robotics projects for the International Space Station (ISS), he also understands the different ways in which experiential evidence for the existence of telepathy “throws a serious monkey wrench” into his view of the universe.

Fifth Kind

Dr. Steven M. Greer’s Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI) introduced CE-5 incidents to the Close Encounters model formulated by U.S. government UFO scientist Dr. J. Allen Hynek. These events are defined as “a fifth category of close encounters with Extraterrestrial Intelligence (ETI), characterized by mutual, bilateral communication rather than unilateral contact.”

One source indicates that “the nature of this bilateral, deliberate communication between the intelligent source and the subject is generally claimed to be (but does not have to be) telepathic.”

Examiner.com has reported numerous instances of telepathic encounters by British Columbia UFO witnesses, including exclusive first-hand in-depth investigations into the Vancouver City Hall contacts of videographer Les Murzsa.

Desert Incident

“I was at a CSETI event in Rio Rico, Ariz. in 2010,” former naval instructor Jeff Becker explained.

”It seemed to me that ETs were not as outgoing. There didn’t seem to be as much activity in the sky. At least I wasn’t seeing as much.

“I was asking over and over and over again, “Please show the people something undeniable.” I was just really getting kind of obnoxious with my requests.

“During one of the meditations later in the week I’m getting nice and peaceful and clear and I feel this presence in front of me and I hear “There are more important things than seeing us. Do you understand? Do you understand? Do you understand?”

“It was absolutely shocking.”

Contact Underground

The term “Contact Underground” was coined by Dr. Joseph Burkes, M.D.

Dr. Burkes is an internal medicine specialist who has been a UFO investigator since 1992. He is also a member of the authoring team that contributed to the publication of “Paths.”

“He was one of the first CSETI working group organizers. He was a peace activist as a young man and he observed that what [CSETI] was doing at that time was an underground activity. It wasn’t in the public eye.”

Summing up a philosophy that continues to inspire DIY night vision skywatchers around the world, Jeff Becker explained that being part of a contact underground means, “To make contact ourselves, to see with our own eyes so we don’t just have to believe what we’re told.”
