This image was captured in an infrared photograph. It’s not a clear picture, but one to confirm that things do go bump in the dark.
Aaron always slept in his bedroom with the light on. He was afraid of what might go bump in the dark. When the light bulb needed to be replaced, my nine year old son slept downstairs on the sofa in the living room.
In the early morning hours, Aaron woke up hearing a noise in the kitchen. He thought it was a mouse and went to investigate. He walked in the dark kitchen carrying his pen light and saw the refrigerator door open. No light came from the refrigerator, since the bulb had blown a year ago. Aaron did not see IT at first. He thought his father or I had not closed the door and now a mouse was in there searching for food. Aaron wanted to see the mouse. He was about to go around the door when a tall, gray creature having a football-shaped head, stood up. Aaron looked up into a pair of yellow eyes. Every muscle in Aaron’s body shook. He dropped his pen light and ran back into the living room. He hid under the covers on the sofa. Aaron listened for any sound of the alien creature. But, all he heard was the sound of his heart pounding.
I did not believe him. Who would? A crazy story like that!
Ten years later, I changed my mind. It was around 8:30 p.m. and I was working on a document at the computer in the kitchen. At first, I thought it was a kid cutting across the yard. I stopped working on the manuscript to take a closer look. Then, a cold shiver crept down my spine when a thought entered my mind. If it was some kid in the backyard, why didn’t the motion light attached to the shed turn on?
