Witches
Goody Cole of Hampton was a famous witch that plagued Hampton, New Hampshire. It was said that she was accused of witchcraft and sent to prison in the late 1600s. She was also brought to Portsmouth to be tried again for witchcraft and imprisoned. After being released it was said that she cursed a passing ship as it left the harbor and the ship was never seen again. Eventually, she was brought to Boston and then returned back to Hampton where she was put to death. They covered her grave with huge stones and slabs to keep her there.
UFOs
Now on to UFOs: In 1896 one was reportedly shot at the Portsmouth Naval Ship yard! That was one of the first, if not the first of a UFO being shot at by the military. Like I said over Mount Washington the first photograph was taken of an UFO. And New Hampshire was the first registered case of an abduction that has stood the test of time in UFO lore. Although UFOs were seen in the 1950s in Newburyport Massachusetts as well as Haverhill Massachusetts and other towns near Boston! But as we know the best was to come.
The 1960s had UFO waves in the 1965 with the Incident at Exeter and the 1967 events around the Seacoast and the bordering towns of Massachusetts! The whole border from the Seacoast of Massachusetts-NEW HAMPSHIRE was an impressive wave hysteria that no town missed. Low-level sightings, MIBs and other close encounters of the 3rd kind were all over the news! Their was not a week that went by that did not have its share of sightings from the rocky coast to its inland rivers. The UFOS were everywhere. Even the great Black out, in my opinion (and other also) were caused by these enigmatic flying objects. So from the 1950s-the 1990s were just over run by these objects that were seen from Rhode Island to Maine and beyond.
So from Bigfoot and Flying winged "monsters" in Massachusetts to ghost in NEW HAMPSHIRE and Maine lighthouses and UFOs in the 20th century and New England Mountains being seen and capturing people in the same areas of the first pictures 200 years earlier it seems to me they are not going to go away. Why should they?
They were here before the pilgrims settled, they are here now: waiting to be seen again. Will I or you or someone who visits Vermont see the phantom "Champ" or something else paranormal?
