Dave was focusing on the ruins of the castle the object to the right is blurred - out of focus. If the photo was deiblerately fraudulent the blurred object would be clearer. After enlarging the photo, especially the area where the object appears, I find no pixel distortion or irregularity. Which means the object is real.
I can't tell Dave exactly what it is but I can guess: I believe the Dave has taken a photo of an airplane. See the position of the airplane in the sky - it is thousands of feet above the ground and appears to be approaching an airport or has just taken offf from an airport. Researching the area I discovered that there is a military airfield in Shropshire, with major airports located Birmingham and Manchester.

| I tried every trick in the book, sharpened the image and then sharpened edges and more. Finally equalized closeup again and came up with what you see above. With a little imagination you can make out an airplane tail (left back) and with a little more imagination you can see the shadow beneath the craft as the wings of an airplane. |
I re-enlarged the photo and tried to bring out as much contrast as possible - which there wasn't much. But if I assume that the object to the back-left of the object is the tail fin, then you can find the body and the right wing of the airplane.
It could well be a UFO but for my money I would think the object is an airplane.

I would be the most excited if this were ET, but one observation I've made about the photo gives me doubts. The object would seem to be positioned beyond the building structure and the clouds. However, the building and clouds are both in focus, so the camera's lens was probably set to focus on infinity. It would seem to me to be more logical that the object is blurry because it is out of the focal range, which would place it very close to the camera. I suspect it could be a flying insect; although I will admit the insect could be from another world.
