As I have stated in several previous articles, I wrote a spec treatment for
the X-Files TV Show in 1995 entitled The Catching Away. This was the first
presentation of my premise that the sudden catching away (Rapture) of
Christians would be explained as an abduction by UFOs (see The Upcoming Great Deception, UFO Digest 12/15/06). I had been greatly influenced by military
aviation historian Trevor James Constable
s statement that the battle with
UFOs was not for the planet of man but for the soul of man. When my treatment
was finally officially denied and returned in 1996 (under strange
circumstances as explained in
My Struggle Against Spiritual Forms of
Wickedness in Heavenly Places
(UFO Digest 9/1/07), I sought to use that same
concept in a novel but I had to create new characters and a new story line to
carry my premise.
A little while later I seemingly providentially ran across Courtney Brown
PhD
s book Cosmic Voyage and his Farsight Institute. He spoke of some former
CIA psychics turning their efforts from spying on Russia from afar (Remote
Viewing) to searching the heavens for extraterrestrials and also even trying
to contact Jesus and other religious figures. Such searches in his mind at
least, proved to be possible. Suddenly and rather purposely, the entire
subject of Remote Viewing opened up to me as a vehicle for my artistic
endeavors. Not that I actually thought that such modalities were appropriate
or indeed even legitimate but rather they provided a unique vehicle for
developing my ideas.
My first novel, The Great Harpazo Deception: the real story of UFOs, (also
excerpted in UFO Digest) made ample use of Remote Viewing. Israeli Colonel
Judah Meier, my main protagonist, went to work at the CIA
s Remote Viewing
facility after graduating from West Point even though he did not have the
right security clearances. When this program got scrapped by the CIA because
of funding cutbacks (as it did in real life) Judah went to work for the Lazant
Institute (aka, the Farsight Institute) where Dr.Lazant used Remote Viewers to
scan the heavens. They located not only Azazel, the extraterrestrial fallen
angel who dominates my novels, but they also communicated with an entity
calling himself jesus who spews forth an all inclusive non judgmental gospel
which is exactly what the Farsight Institute supposedly found also. This
enabled me to write about extraterrestrials as a manifestation of demonic
New
Age
beliefs as I believed that they actually were.
Thus my novel while obviously fiction was also what I would call
faction
as
well. All of the talk of ETs as fallen angels was I believe actually true, and
the talk of Remote Viewing as a way to possibly contact them was also a real
endeavor. I did not question its existence or its viability but rather its
conclusions and thus its validity.
Remote Viewing is a technique advocated by people as diverse as the journalist
Jim Mars in his book Alien Agenda, Dr.Courney Brown in his book Cosmic Voyage
and his Farsight Institute, Major General Stubblebine, Chairman of the Board
of Psi Tech, psychic Ingo Swann, Dr. Steven Greer
s Disclosure Project and the
Center for the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI) as well as a
score of other groups like Exopolitics and the Star Dream Initiative. Dr.
Greer
s book Hidden Truth: Forbidden Knowledge presents a Gnostic modality of
meditation, lucid dreaming, Remote Viewing and higher states of consciousness
as ways to contact ETs.
